Excellent reference for learning TSQL
Kathi and Lee did a great job explaining and teaching TSQL. The examples are all really good at teaching the big concepts. Kathi also spends time to explain other related advanced topics that are relevant to the topic of the current chapter. For instance. Kathi has a great explanation of creating Covering Indexes to Improve Query Performance and shows how to interpret the Execution Plan. Other great sections include info on subqueries, OUTER APPLY, and using CTEs to solve complicated Join problems. Another thing to note is the excellent diagrams throughout the printed book. Diagrams use shaded grayscale to good effect. I like the use of concentric circles to show join styles. Having that in the book is a plus. Another thing that was notable was the mindfulness to performance. There were tidbits about performance as you go that helps you learn good practices. This was a good decision. Very pleased with this purchase.

A super informative SQL book
I don't really have much negative to say it was a very great book that I would gladly recommend to anyone looking to improve their TSQL. How the things I learned I ended up using at my job where we work with PostgreSQL databases.A couple of suggestions would be to edit some of the questions that seem kind of vague and unclear and to also add a section on Dynamic SQL however brief it may be.
