Great until it rained.
I bought this for 3 baby squirels I have in my tree in the back yard. It's basically like a huge hamster chew. It was easy to screw into the tree, and they couldn't get it out. All was good , and they enjoyed it for about a week until we got 2 days of rain. Then the thing swelled up, melted into the tree, and turned to mush. They won't touch it now. The packaging really needs to say these things need to be protected from getting wet, because wouldn't you thing something made to hang in a tree for wildlife would hold up to a bit of rain? I'm a little upset to be honest. If they sold a little roof to hang over it or something, & I just didn't bother, I'd understand, but that's not the case. I gave it 2 stars because they did like it before it was ruined, and it would last longer than corn cobs ( as stated in add) if protected from weather. My advice is to hang these under some kind of protection from the rain.

Keeps them busy, keeps me entertained.
It took them about 20 minutes to find it. It keeps them busy, that's for sure. It's been up 10 days and every time I look out, there's a squirrel hanging on it working hard. Fights have broken out! Chases have ensued. Nobody got hurt. They love this stuff. I've already replaced it once but I think the first one might have fallen off. I also purchased the other logs (the brown ones) and they seem to have no preference. My only wish is that the screw that goes into the tree would be a bit longer. I couldn't screw it all the way in because I don't want the log leaning against the tree. Also, the wing nut could be a big bigger considering the size of the washer but I think what I will do is get another larger wing nut to go in front of the smaller one. Double security in case it was the wing nut that caused the first log to fall off because I found both the washer and the wing nut on the ground beneath the tree. All in all, the squirrels here in the Pacific Northwest are doing a happy dance that I gave them these logs.I saw a review where the reviewer stated that rain melted them. Well, it rains a bit here too...and by bit, I mean a lot...and the rain hasn't affected them at all.

squirrels like the feeder but it is what it is
It looks sorta cheap because it is? But the squirrels love the food

Squirrels & Birds
The squirrels did not take to this right away, but I just left it out anyway. After is rained and softened it a bit, they started gnawing at it more. Some of the birds really like it too. The squirrels still eat the bird seed more because it is easier but the birds eat the log too.

The adorable, but greedy
The adorable, but greedy, little squirrels love this. Lasts WAY longer than the corn cobs that I used to put out for them. It doesn't really stop them from eating my bird seed since there are so many in the area. I hung this off a branch of my rosebush, close to my window, so that my cat can watch them. Between the birds and the squirrels, I like to think he has his own personal nature soap opera playing out right in front of him. I get kind of a kick out of watching the squirrels too. Their little hands are so cute! If they didn't make such a mess when they're plundering the birdseed, I wouldn't mind them at all.

Squirrels love it
Love this product for the only 2 squirrels in my yard. Took a couple of days for them to find it but they ate most of it. Then the wing nut came off and it rolled into the wooded area. I will buy more but I wished it came with a locking nut to keep it more secure.

My squirrels like it
I like the holder I just wish it came with a clip to make it easy to take down and refill. The screw is damaging to my tree and hard to change or move

Squirrels love it
Squirrels love it and it lasts about a week compared to the ear of corn that lasts hours. Warning did have to start removing it nightly due to the raccoons , they love it as well.
