If I can carve with them so can you.
I was restoring 2 chairs and needed to replace missing wing molding on one of legs. I bought a set hoping I could figure out how to use them. The tools were just what I needed to carve a matching design on a newly fitted piece of wood as shown in my pictures.

Ordered this set as it looked to be a decent set. I also saw that they had videos on youtube etc... Upon receiving them they appear to be good tools. Most were sharpened, I did have to hone them. My problem came when I came to the V parting tool. The Heel in the V portion was totally unacceptable, there was no way it would cut thru Basswood. I'm going to have to remove quit a bit of metal to get a rounded gouge like profile and create a heel that is acceptable.. All in all the set is nice and I think it will be a great starter set if I can get the V parting tool in shape. I've been searching on you tube to research how to shape it... It wasn't a ready to carve set, it could have been if they would have contoured the V tool as it should have been in my opinion. I would have given them a 5 star if it had been ground correctly.
