Great for killing algae blooms- love it!
I bought this to treat a subborn algae bloom in a large Oscar tank that popped up when I moved our tank to a new house.I ran the light in the back of a spare HOB for 6 hours a day. In 5 days the tank was crystal clear. I did do 25% water changes each day because the tank was still cycling from the move.It worked so well that I also went ahead and treated my 55 gal african chiclids tank too.My fish and tanks are all great... Just be careful not to use it inside your tank and that no light is leaking out from it. My HOB is opaque blue so I stuck a piece of a cheap black plastic tablecloth from dollar tree between the filter and the glass to block any UV

Works great, please just read the instructions!
This bulb works very well. It will clear a tank of green water (algae in the water column) in 2-5 days depending on how much you run it. Please use common sense, do NOT put an exposed UV bulb into your fish tank then wonder why your fish died!! It is ultraviolet light and will harm any living organism that is exposed to it closely and directly.Simply put this bulb inside a separate filter or inline in your filters intake pipe and it will safely kill all waterborne algae and bacteria. I assure you, this bulb works well and I’ve used it for countless hours on several of our tanks without a single issue.

Doesn't last
I have had this for 34 days. It died somewhere in there last week and I didn't notice. My return window closed 3 days ago. Garbage.

It does work,Green water turn light brown then clear
used for 1700 gallon koi pond//This thing works. After 1 day water turned light brown from pea soup green..Light brown i guess from alge dying ,,3days of use pretty clear and i can see my fish now..lol..Note i dont think this is a sterilizer as youtubers has told me at this price its most definitely a clarifier which help bind algae to collect by the filter ..Water must not pass to fast or none of these lights will work,,Mine is for pond and inside 2,5 gallon home depot pail with pomp and filter media covering it..Light will hurt fish and you so have it covered and only exposed to water at bottom ..Water passing by to fast is not treated hence the pail i use cause filter pump too fast without pail ..UPDATE only had to use it for 3 weeks and p put it in closet.Water is clear and i am allowing green algae to grow on the sides for fish to eat.

Effective at Killing Bacteria [So Far] ⚠️ Caution ⚠️ around UVC 254nm ⚠️
There isn’t any mercury in the device. The device has “a high quality quartz ultraviolet lamp tube, which is not filled with mercury.” According to online research: this light is faster than a mercury bulb that takes time to heat up. UVC at 254 doesn’t produce ozone like other UVC under 240nm can. UVC at 254 can make someone go blind for a few days [snow blindness][photokeratitis] can cause burns to the skin if not careful. Do not turn on around people or living things. Mercury bulbs are a lot slower to activate. Don’t look at the light. Safety UV glasses that block 254nm recommended. I purchased such glasses before killing bacteria in the tray of my HVAC system. So far this light was the solution to a bad smelling bacterial problem. I can confirm there is a burnt bacteria smell. After running the light and the AC at the same time. It seems the Endospores opened due to the cold. Making the Bacteria available for UVC destruction. As the institutions indicate. There is a burnt smell that is similar to the bacterial infection that was in the air handler. The infection of my Heat Pump/AC so far seems to have died. Will be leaving the device in there in case of future microbial problems. This is a microorganism killing device. That burns everything that is alive. Including your ⚠️🚫👁️ eyes. I would wear safety glasses 🥽 and have the device behind other 🛡️👀✅ objects [inside my HVAC air handler in the condensate tray] before activating the device. ✅😎

It works..
The media could not be loaded. Water is crystal clear, algae dropped.Understand, the light will not remove algae that is already in the tank. That is on you.I leave my light on 24/7..Why have it if your not going to take full advantage of its benefits. The directions suck..Then again if your buying this you should know how to use.I can't speak for the longevity of the light.Only time will tell..

THIS WORKS! Do NOT let fish have access to UV Rays!!!!
The media could not be loaded. the light has drastically cleared the water in my aquarium as well as inhibited algea growth in just 48 hours. I have a fluval flex 32.5 gallon freshwater guppy tank. the video is before the uv lamp installation (taken approx 2 weeks before). the picture is of the tank this morning! a world of a difference! I'm currently only running the uv lamp 12 hours a day when the aquarium lighting is on. I purchased the 9w bulb and it fits perfectly in the rear filter housing (as pictured)DO NOT INSTALL THIS LAMP IN THE OPEN AREA OF YOUR TANK. IT WILL HARM/BURN THE FISH!!! IT NEEDS INSTALLED SOMEWHERE IN THE TANK THAT FISH DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO. (sump tank, canister filter, segregated housing of some sort. I've also seen people 3D print a housing for UV bulbs.) Just do not expose your fish to these rays!!!!!

Light works great but the suction cups are trash
The light itself works great. The suction cups on the other hand do not work. They stick for about 10 seconds and then popoff. I have tried them on all kinds of surfaces and made sure everything was clean. They just don't work. luckly, I have been able to just leave it floating the tub I am using it in and it still works fine. If I were using a small container and needed to mount this vertically, I don't think it would work.
