Anyone have any issues with their recording schedules disappearing? Mine wiped all my schedules.

Yes and it is my one major beef with this product. About every 2-3 months it will start acting up especially on recording. It may record the wrong channel or not record at all. A factory reset seems to always fix it but of course that means rescanning and reprogramming all the channels. I really wish they'd fix these buts because aside from that it's a great product.

Can you program the remote to control your TV?

Here's a to-the-point answer. No. This remote cannot control your TV, you will need the TV's remote to control the power, etc. This box will control its line level volume out to your TV negating the need for both remotes during normal viewing. The first generation of RCA Converter boxes did indeed have a remote that could control the box, and your TV; but I don't see any current units that will do this any more.

I used a 500GB salvaged out of an old laptop that was totally dead. I ordered a cheap $7.99 ORICO USB3.0 to SATA III 2.5" External Hard Drive Enclosure from Amazon as well to mount it in. Worked perfectly. I've also used a cheap (free) 32GB USB thumb drive that I didn't have any problem with. Got that thumb drive free from a Microcenter computer store.
