Not Good At What Its Supposed To Do
I received this in April of 2022. Easy to assemble and operate. The directions leave a lot to be desired. However before I was even able to wind my first transformer, the 'wire carriage' stopped oscillating when it met the stops. I'm not impressed.

It works,... just don't expect precision or consistency.
Yes, it can wind a coil. There is a plastic thread guide that moves the carriage from left to right and back again, and it is not always 100% reliable, not sure why they made such animportant piece out of plastic... seems like an oversight. Yes, it can wind a coil, will it do it with precision, not really. This machine will make a good 'wild winding'...

It works
It works. Using 28 AWG or thicker is pretty safe but if you use 38 AWG or thinner you can expect the wire to break often. $185 is a bit pricey for this item, but I bought it anyway. The box that it came in was very damaged and sliced open and taped back together with US Customs tape that said that US Customs tore it open and searched the contents.There is some assembly and I bolted it down to a folding table. You can pull the handle part that you turn and put it back on in reverse to get different ratios of spinning spool/hand crank.
