SSC Controls C910-0725 TIG Foot Pedal, AHP, Made in USA, 7-Pin Plug, 25-ft Cable, AHP AlphaTIG 200X and Primeweld, TIG Welding Control

Pros - vastly superior in form and function to the original pedal that came with my Primeweld 225x some months ago. (I believe Primeweld now ships an SSC with their units). The original was a tank, no doubt, but it was difficult to actuate and offered no feedback. The SSC has a very positive “feel” after you actuate the switch and just as you engage the potentiometer. When backing off you get that same feel, which helps you know that you are at min amperage and about to deactivate the switch. Non-skid material for the foot and in contact with the floor are appropriate for the applications and effective. All-steel and made in America.Con - as mentioned a year ago in another review, the Heyco strain relief is lacking. I like the long spiral relief, and it grips the cord securely, but does not positively engage with the case. This means that movement of the cord is transmitted inside the case. The relief rattles around a bit in the hole it goes thru, in other words. Not acceptable. The PG13.5 relief on the old pedal is far superior, grips the cord more securely and without kinking it like the Heyco does. I’ll find a way to better secure the Heyco to the case without voiding my warranty, so no big deal.Overall, the unit still deserves 5 stars. If you are on the fence about buying one, do yourself a huge favor and get off the fence. You’ll be glad you did.

So first..,made in USA!! Woo hoo I now feel less guilty for buying an AHP!!!Very good quality for the price! They seem to use the same rocker case and setup for most of their pedals. Then they tailor them to correct ohm and pin connector to the welder it is for. It is very well made and is the perfect pairing to the AHP! The AHP is one of the best AC/DC Tig rigs under $2000 let alone the actual price of $690!!! So take the one real flaw the shoddy pedal and upgrade to this! It is very similar to what u would get with a miller or Lincoln. Miller pedals are $300. So this is a excellent deal. The 25ft cord is a added bonus. If you weld at work and are spoiled by nice miller pedals then u must buy this as u will not like the stock AHP one. The level of control is night and day. This pedal paired to the AHP with its outrageous. 60% 200amp duty cycle is a must.I was dead set on the Lincoln squarewave until I saw the pathetic duty cycle. It’s terrible post flow setting it lousy pulse range.... all for over double the price of the AHP... to top it off the Lincoln is Hecho en Mexico!!! Lol not a good deal. The duty cycle is almost an insult! Sooo happy I did not pull the trigger on that!

This footpedal replaces the stock AHP pedal that comes with the machine. I had a lot of trouble fine tuning the puddle, expecially with aluminum, using the stock foot pedal. The stock foot pedal just isn't very responsive, especially at lower amperages. When I use this foot pedal I have excellent puddle control and also excellent tapering amperage to end a weld. I have seen the ease of welding aluminum improve almost miraculously. It is SOOO much easier; no more fighting to get the puddle to remain stable mid-weld, and the ergomonics are reallly improved.If you want the AHP machine to weld like the blue or red machines this is the most important addition you can get. The stock torches are good enough, but the stock pedal is a real impediment to good control. If you get this you will not regret it, it is the best $150 I have spent in a long time. It is transformative. Really.Quality is really good and it has good friction on the floor and on your foot.

I tried numerous modifications to my foot control that came with my AHP 200X welder and could not find a satisfactory position to make my controller comfortable. It was always sliding away or giving me a cramp in my ankle pushing down on it. I finally broke down and bought the SSC Controller. It works great from what little experience I have with it so far. There is another seller that offered a pedal for the same machine with a different part number. It is supposed to be a knockoff of this foot control and it is labeled a different ohm rating which will not work properly with a AHP 200X. This controller from SSC Controls is also patented which tells me it was made either in the USA or another country that complies with International Patent Laws which China does not. I am confident SSC Controls will back up this product should I ever have problems in the future.

Get this one if you run a PrimeWeld TIG to replace the less than spectacular stock unit that came with it. It stays where you put it, it's tough, and the amp transitions are smooth as the day is long! Took mine down to 13 amps on box cutter blades and still had excellent control. Like others have mentioned, this unit is a game changer on aluminum compared to the stocker.

For Christmas I purchased a Prime Weld 225 TIG to learn to tig weld with because I could not afford or justify a $4k Miller Dynasty. It has been a good welder, but the foot peddle was causing me issues, especially with aluminum. Purchased this peddle from SSC Controls and couldn't be happier. Although it looks the same as the updated Prime Weld peddle, it isn't. I am extremely impressed with the range and feel of the SSC, particularly at the extremes of its travel. Best $160 I spent all year. If you own a Chinese welder, buy an SSC Controls peddle. You will be amazed at the difference.

I don’t know why I waited so long to purchase this. By far the best upgrade possible on an ahp alpha tig. Smooth and precise. Good weight and doesn’t slide around very much. The grip on the pedal keeps it stuck to your foot. Absolutely incredible unit

I love it, used on my AHP Alphatig 201XD. Way better than the pedal that the welder came with and I understand why. The AHP is a very affordable unit, so not all the parts are performance from the get go. This pedal allows much more refined amps and control. It's sturdy, no-slip, and perfect for the hobby welders.
