Just what I needed
I needed this book for a college course on learning how to play trombone and trumpet and this book was a mandatory read. After some skimming, the tips it was able to provide on basic playing had me going in no time, this book is great! It is essential for any up and coming brass player and I highly recommend it!

Amazing
Wow!!!! What a wealth of knowledge. I'm a music instructor and I bought this book based on some of the ratings. I have to say that this book lives up to them. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking to get some very detailed information about the brass instruments.

A Treasure Trove of Useful Information!
This incredible reference manual should be in every instrumental music educator's library. It is chock full of pictures covering mouthpieces, a huge assortment of brass instruments, proper playing positions and the development of a functional embouchure, etc. The section on stopped horn was particularly edifying! This book is a "must have" for music teachers who want to take their students further on an instrument than they may feel comfortable playing themselves. Detailed instructions provide support to both teacher and student in exploring all members of the brass family!
