OWC 2GB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz SO-DIMM Memory RAM Upgrade Compatible with iMac (April 2008), MacBook (White) 2.13GHz (May 2009), and Compatible PCs

Picked up a 2006 24" iMac and upgrade the OS to Lion so wanted to upgrade the 2 Memory slots with 4GBs of RAM. The memory was reasonably priced and of good quality to help with the Apple software to run without issues, keeping this like new 2006 running well into 2020.

I had originally ordered a 4 gb module from another seller in order to upgrade a 2009 macbook from 4 gb to 6 gb however this module was not compatible and was returned for a refund. I then ordered the 6 gb kit for macbooks from OWC. This memory was detected and has been functioning very well as may be visualized on the Activity Monitor. I like to watch live news from around the world and the performance is much better.

You know it’s sort of a shame that Apple took the path of making everything hard to upgrade. Thinner doesn’t mean better. My old iMac still does everything I need it to do and then some. Before you go out and spend $2,000 to 5,000 on a new Mac consider buying something older and installing upgrades for a fraction of the price. As usual, do you homework.

So far so good...Was able to replace and upgrade RAM in 2009 Macbook which improved performance considerably - loading pages as well as opening apps so quickly. It has only been about one month so will see if lasts. The price was good - there were cheaper kits but without Prime shipping - so on that fact it is more than worth it.The RAM was soo easy to replace...after removing the battery there were pictograms on Mac book but an easy Youtube search found a video for extra reassurance

I just installed this product in my early 2008 iMac. I had previously upgraded to 4GB a couple of years ago. If I had known I would have gone straight to 6GB. Anyway it is now running 6GB of DDR2 SDRAM. It will be interesting to see if I stop getting the spinning pinwheel. I love my old iMac because of ease of use and it does everything I want out of a computer. Hope to keep using it for the near future.

Decided to play around with an old M1210 I had laying around. Doubled the ram and added an ssd and it is quite the improvement. Running windows 10 and I can stream spectrum over the wifi now. Id say the ssd made the most impact but haven't seen buffer lag yet..

The memory works as advertised and I plan to buy again from the seller.I used Memtest86+ 8.4 to verify that the memory works correctly.This review is for "OWC 4.0GB Kit (2X 2GB) PC2-6400", which I bought from "Newer Galaxy Distribution Company".

My old reliable 08 mac only had 2 g of memory so this is as much as I could safely install. Mac seems a little faster and doesn't hang up as much... and cheap.

OWC, the producer of the RAM memory I’d ordered from an exporter, Kleen did nothing wrong, but every other step went wrong.1, FedEx claimed the address I gave was wrong and that I had moved away from the address I gave. I do live at Kafkastrasse 40 now and then, December 2015. As a consequence, my package was sent to limbo, no further attempts to deliver my package or contact me were made. After a lot of time spent trying to telephone FedEx I resorted to the online FedEx-Chat on the the FedEx website. The woman on that chat was, in fact, very helpful. Fortunately, she was able to determine that my package was still in a FedEx facility in Munich, as normally it was scheduled to be sent back to America and the exporter, likely due to the holidays. The only alternative address I had was my workplace, a teaching hospital in the middle of Munich. Personal deliveries are forbidden, but I was able to arrange with the Information Desk an one-time exception to that rule - conditioned upon the package being delivered to the Info-Desk, not to the normal package receiving address for the Clinic. What die FedEx do? They delivered my package to the normal receiving station for all deliveries. Luckily for me the man on duty knew me by name and delivered my package to me - no thanks to FedEx. 2, Kleen, in Florida and Germany, was and is unreachable. I wanted to inform them that should FedEx ship my package back to the U.S. it would be due to FedEx’s stupidity, not mine. Since they have never responded to my emails, they get poor marks. 3, Amazon has no functioning wrist-slapping procedures when a firm and/or delivery service screw up.

They seem to work ok with my 2008 iMac. The rams are sealed in a package which said owc, but they look different from the picture. They are green and the stickers said Samsung. Not a big deal. I wish they could sell the 4gb in one stick for a reasonable price. $100 for a single 4gb! Are you kidding me? I wasn’t forced to buy these (2x2gb for $30), but I kinda feel like I was.
