Pretty dies but should have more cutting edges
I make and sell greeting cards to benefit our local library, and I thought this four-die boutique stacker A2 frame set would make great wedding and birthday cards. I have also used them for sympathy cards. Please see customer image for an A2 (5.5" x 4.25") birthday card where I employed three of the four dies.I do have a problem with the way these dies are made: the straight (non-decorated) edges of these dies are NOT cutting edges. The smallest die has no cutting edges at all, except for those that cut out the small fleur de lis patterns. Why are they made like this? I always have to go in with my #11 X-acto blade and cut my own straight edges.I had to use a metal shim when make the initial die cut with my Spellbinders Grand Calibur machine.I've discovered that the best way to clean dies with lots of little pieces of paper that stick to the metal is to soak the die in warm water for a couple of minutes, then dig out the excess paper with a stiff-bristled brush, using small circular motions.
