Good stones, solid kit, pretty fair slip resistant base.
Wonderful Item. Good for begginers and decent for more skilled individuals. The only thing I'll say is that I hate the angle guide. The stones themselves are great, and if used properly can keep an incredible edge on kitchen knives, throwing knives and light throwing axes, short swords, and combat/survival knives.(With that, as long as you don't have a 2 foot blade or longer, these are perfect) good size too.

Sharpens knife well.
I have an old set of kitchen knives that I wanted to throw away. I was looking at the new set and realize that it is pretty expensive to replace it so I figured it would be more cost effective to sharpen the knives. After reading a lot of reviews and looking at different products, I decided to get this. From the start, product comes beautifully package, really neat and looks like a lot of care is taken to put it together. Package includes angle holder, a pair of cut resistant gloves, leather, flattening stone and 4 different grits stone. Each grit has its own function which is provided in the instruction brochure. It is really easy to use, definitely try to maintain the angle of your knife as you sharpen it on the stone. Take your time on it, I spent about 5-7mins on each knife that I have, slowly stepped up on the grits, from 400 (remove chips/nicks), 1000 (general purpose) to 3000 (meat) to 8000 (vegetables/fruits), stopping at grit intended for the knife function.Overall, I am very happy with the product. Sharpens the knives well, especially if you take your time on the process.

Not a bad first set.
This is a good product for anyone's first wet stone. That being said the gloves and leather strop are worthless don't try to use them just throw them away. The gloves are woven with a thin plastic wire my knife that hasn't been sharpened three months cut through it like butter and the leather strop is too soft to do anything thing to a steel knife. The sharpening guide depending on where you look in the guide says it is supposed to be 18-20 degrees but when I checked it in multiple different ways it measured to be 5-6 degrees. Though it is meant to be used temporarily to help get a feel of the angle and not to be relied upon. The price is low enough and the quality of everything else is good enough to justify the purchase. I would still recommend it.

Too notch
compared to others -I tried several other knife sharpening kits first which looked similar, but this one is much better. The others had grit stones which were mislabeled and not very flat. These grit stones are labeled correctly and work perfectly. Instructions are clear and packaging is much better than other brands. I received other brands with broken stones because of poor packaging, but this one is in foam and secure so it won’t break during shipping.Usage -I was able to put a razor edge on my knives. I sharpened several knives with these stones, some stainless kitchen knives, a kitchen fillet knife and chefs knife and some aerated blades. All sharpened quickly. I used these on a D2 steel pocket knife which also sharpened easily. I also sharpened a leatherman blade which is 440 stainless and a Fox knife blade which is also 440 stainless. These required more passes but still sharpened fine. Then I used these on a m390 lionsteel, which is also now razor sharp again. If the stones can sharpen m390 then they will work for anything.Presentation -These stones are presented very well. The box is robust and very well made, as is the packaging. As mentioned above the stones are secured with foam which is cut to their shape and they are also bubble wrapped, so I wouldn’t worry about breaking during shipping. They also come with a stamped on logo, which is nice but frankly hinders use so I don’t like it. That’s my only real complaint.Final thoughts -I really like this set. The stones are good, instructions are clear, and packaging is excellent. I’d recommend these if you’re looking for a full set of stones, especially over cheaper alternatives that look similar.

Good results
I've been using this for about a year now. I'm probably still pretty bad, technique-wise, at sharpening knives. But all the same the results have been tangible. I use a tomato to test the before and after, and even at my novice level, I can go from a knife that won't even cut the skin to one that effortlessly slides through like a light sabre.I bought this set specifically because I'm a beginner and it seemed pretty comprehensive. I didn't want to spend money on a super nice set of stones in case I decided to bail on this. I may someday get a really nice stone if I get REALLY good at this or start doing it more than a few times a year. But for a normal human, this is the perfect set. It covers all the bases and is affordable. I expect it to last at least a decade.
