My mini organic garden!!!
The media could not be loaded. I love this product. It’s so easy to use and convenient at the same time. The design of the product is so accurate it doesn’t need anything else to do. Once the seeds are soaked completely just spread the seeds evenly on the white tray and fill the water in the green tray!! Boom you are all set wishing few days you can see it growing. Is t it worth to have your own organic food??I would recommend this product to those who loves their green

So much better
I hesitated as I used jars & didn't want plastic, but after a couple of jars cracked I decided to try. Couldn't be happier. The trays aerate the seeds well, and double as lids for germination. Rinsing through is easy with mung. A tip for small alfalfa seeds that fall through at first is to keep a tray underneath as you rinse, then strain and put back. Using these trays has tripled my sprout output and more than halved the work involved.

Good product for microgreens...would recommend.
Sturdy and good for soil or hydroponic growth of microgreens ( as long as seeds aren't too small - alfalfa and broccoli need to be down on paper provided if wishing to grow hydroponically).

new to sprouting, possibly not the best starter kit
Bearing in mind I'm new to sprouting, here are my thoughts.First, these are sturdy well made trays and they were delivered promptly. However, I think I would benefit from a better thought out design. The holes in the tray are fairly big. Bell pepper seeds do not fall through; alfalfa seeds definitely would. The pack comes with pre-cut sheets of paper which are slightly smaller than the perforated area of the tray. Delicate roots cannot penetrate the paper, meaning they cannot use the lower reservoir for water. They must rely on moisture in the paper itself. I think I would prefer a finer mesh in the bottom of the tray.I have moved from the weighted stage to the blackout stage (see, I've done my YouTube research) and the bottom tray does not sit securely on the perforated tray, it slides around. Some thought could have gone into the need at some point potentially to use the bottom tray as a cover.I have not tried using soil or coir in the trays as I was hoping to avoid the mess but I will have to try before writing these trays off completely and moving to something else - perhaps a jar.

Perfect For Small Batch Microgreens
We run a pretty good microgreen business and the standard tray we use is a 1020 Bootstrap Farmer tray (with holes) nested within another 1020 Bootstrap Farmer tray (with no holes) to allow for bottom watering. If you need high quality 1020 trays, there is no better one available to our knowledge. This system has worked great but it's not ideal for us when trying out new seeds; there is simply too much potential waste when experimenting with new lights, different soil amounts, new seeds and changing weighted/blackout times, but that's where these trays excel. While we wouldn't use these trays in our production line, they are GREAT for folks who want or need to do smaller batches for whatever reason.Size:These trays are excellent since they easily fit most shelving sold in stores since those are typically 18" deep and these trays are 13" deep. For reference, 1020 trays are 21" deep so using them on shelving that most people already have may not be ideal; our 24" shelving for 1020 trays was a special order since nobody carries 24" deep shelving in-stock.Blackout:One area that may not work for folks is that the green tray is translucent and so it does let light in. This can be a problem if you are flipping over a bottom tray to conduct your blackout period for your microgreens. You can fix this by using a plastic-dip spray paint and paint the outside of one of the trays, or you can use a towel to cover the tray or just put the tray in a dark spot, they all work equally well but yes, it is a slight limitation for your growing operation. For how we grow, this has not been an issue for us.Sprouts:For folks that want to do sprouts, you might look up Dr Rhonda Patrick and see how she does sprouts in a jar; there are other countless videos out there on how to do it as well. We've used this method successfully for broccoli and fenugreek seeds especially well, but it would work for a great deal more seeds and it takes us a lot less space than trays.Kids:This has turned out to be the perfect size tray for our young kids to "learn the business" without causing too much waste. Yes, they still mess it up frequently, but it's easier to accept the losses and most important, they feel like they're contributing.I hope this review was helpful! If you have any questions, just ask in the comments and I'll do my best to answer them promptly. Happy Growing!
