〰 Has Volume Level Options 〰 Has Alarm Sound Duration Options 〰 Lacks Mute Option 〰
I bought this No Ticking 60 minutes Visual Timer to help me during homework and study time for my 3 oldest boys who seem to have no concept of time at all when it comes to studying or reading for school or whatnot. I wanted a visual reference guide that would be easy for them to follow. The timer comes with simple instructions on how to set it up and use it. You need two AA batteries as they are not included in the box. Aside from a plastic lens that protects the red disk from damage, the timer doesn't provide any shock absorption feature if you were to drop it on the floor. The battery chamber is easy to access and snaps shut very easily as well. This is also where the alarm volume and alarm duration options are. These controls give you the options of either a 3 seconds or a 60 seconds alarm duration and a low or high volume alarm. No matter what setting you choose, your timer will count down the time. Simply put, it's just a question of how long and how loud it will ring when the time expires. This timer does not have a ''silent'' mode like some other brands have.To set a countdown on the timer, you need to turn the center knob clockwise till you reach the desired time. This will move the red disk into position. As the time expires, the red disk (aka remaining time) will start disappearing by moving in a counter-clockwise direction. When the red disk is gone, time is up. This timer does not tick like most clocks do. It will silently count down until it reached the end of the timer, and will then sound the alarm to let you know.We do own different brands of these types of timers, and so, here is how this timer differs from the ''Time Timer'', which is a more expensive timer brand that actually started this trend :1 - This timer does not have any shock protection features, whereas ''Time Timer'' has a silicone cover which adds shock protection.2 - This timer operates with 2AA batteries 〰 My ''Time Timer'' operates with 1 AA battery3 - This timer has a volume option (for a softer alert or a louder alert) but it lacks the ability to mute the alerts completely 〰 ''Time Timer'' only has the option of sounding an alert or muting the alert.4 - This timer offers the option of a 3 seconds sound alert or a 60 seconds sound alert 〰 ''Time Timer'' does NOT have the option to control the length of the audible alert.5 - This timer's audio alert control switches are in the battery chamber, so you need to remove the battery cover to access these settings 〰 ''Time Timer''s audio alert control is on the backside of the timer and is easily accessible. At the end of the day, the major difference between the two is that this timer has a very clear sounding alert even on the lowest setting and on the lowest alert duration. Time Timer can be used in absolute silence, by deactivating the alert completely. Both timers can be very practical to have depending on your exact needs. So, if you are working in a quiet office or are sharing work spaces with others, Time Timer could be your best option since it can operate without any disturbing sounds. Alternatively, if you work in a loud environment and need a high volume alert that lasts for more than a few seconds, this specific timer might be for you. (If you choose the longer alert and want to stop the alarm from beeping for the entire 60 seconds, it can be stopped by turning the knob clockwise (like you're adding time) and then turning the knob counter-clockwise all the way back to zero). Now that I have tried both systems, I can honestly say that I prefer Time Timer because of the silicone cover and the ''no alert sound'' option. Having said that however, this timer is much more affordable (at the time of my purchase, it was HALF the price of the ''Time Timer''). So it really depends on your needs. It's a great timer. It works well. It's very practical to have. Good purchase. Would recommend especially if you need louder alarms that can ring for up to 60 seconds. If my review was helpful let me know by clicking on the ''Helpful'' button :) 👍🏻

Made my morning so much easier!
Each morning was a battle to get my 5 yo out the door to school on time while also getting my toddler and baby ready. This solved our problems! Now I just ask “how many minutes left on the timer?” and she runs to look and says “5 minutes! Oh no, I have to get dressed!” and runs to do it without being asked. I also use it for time outs, so she can see how long is left. And at the playground/play time when I say “5 more minutes” I can set the timer so she can see how long she has left to play. She finds it fun to check the timer and gets excited when it beeps, saying”the timer beeped! Time to go!” instead of fighting for more play time. The only down side is that it’s easy to set the time so she will sneak and change the timer, so I have to put it up high on a shelf while it’s on so she can’t reach it. But I highly recommend this timer for anyone with toddlers!

Not too loud
A lot of reviews had me worried that it was loud and annoying, but it's really not. I use it for the Pomodoro method while I work. So it's sitting directly in front of my face.If you only put it to 3 second beep and on the quieter setting it beeps 3 times and done. It's not annoying at all. If you leave it at 60 second it beeps for the full minute.I love it. It's not too hard to turn the knob and I can do it with one hand. It's super handy and I've times it with a clock, it's as accurate as it can be.

fails working in a few months
It is a great timer for a few weeks, however, it doesn't work after using for a month or so.

Great when it worked 🤦♀️😡
As our original review said, we loved this product, but now one has broken, and seller is MIA.“We are thrilled with this clock. It helps our three-year-old know how long he has to finish his dinner, bath, reading etc. His schedule is so much better, as he can see the red running out. We’ve bought two - one for kitchen and one for bathroom.”
