Yes!! Highly recommend!!!
My son struggled with writing so much and this has been a game changer. This approach is exactly what he needed. We will be following this program all the way through the series. Highly recommended!!!

Love it!
We have used Writing With Ease in the past, but when my son was finished with that, I felt he wasn't ready to move into Writing With Skill. In my search for something else to use, I stumbled on this new curriculum from CAP. I decided to go for it, and I am so glad we did. We may never go to Writing With Skill because this is just so good!It includes copywork, narration / summary, and dictation as WWE did. But there is so much more! The student also has the opportunity to rearrange sentences, substitute words (coming up with synonyms), label parts of speech, add details to the story, rewrite the story with new characters, and memorize. We do writing each day for 10-15 minutes, and it's easy enough to break down each lesson to fit into this time frame. The fables are interesting and amusing for the student, and the book just LOOKS fun with the different fonts and illustrations included. The student I'm using it with is in 5th grade, so slightly older than the recommended age, but he is enjoying it, too. I think that's partly due to the fact that it's slightly below grade level, but also because it's just more fun! (I don't mean to stomp on WWE because we were mostly happy with that, and it was useful to us for a time, but this is just better). I hope CAP can keep up with the production and stay ahead of the level we need because I foresee us using this curriculum for a long time to come!

Challenging and engaging.
I am using this with my 9 and 10 year old boys, having previously worked with my two older daughters (now 13 and 14) learning composition with other programs. I really love how these books systematically teach the students how to summarize and amplify. It seems to me that Summarizing can be so hard for some kids and is an important skill for taking notes and making outlines. The Stories are engaging And the Exercises are challenging yet Fun. We did often have to either record the stories they composed or have them dictate as my boys are no confident writers, but that was an easy fix. I also loved that the book taught important morals through the stories, some of which we had heard many times and some that were new to all of us. They started us on some important discussions.

Love the content
I bought this for my fifth grade son to use as a writing curriculum for homeschool. I felt it was not a good fit for him personally but I am very excited to use it next year with his younger brother. It is very open and go and I really like the content and style of learning. It was recommended to start with level 1, regardless of grade level, but my fifth grader was not challenged and I did not want to commit to the program for so many years at his age. On the other hand I did not want gaps from starting at a higher level so we went a different route. His younger brother I am going to start using it at the beginning of his writing experience.

Wonderful writing series
I have used books 1, 5 and 7. They have made writing lessons so enjoyable for my middle-school boy and easy for me during the past year and a half.

So far so good!
So far so good! My son is 11 and we began here, with book 1. I have found that breaking the lessons into 5 days instead of 3-4 works best for us. I’ve seen some reviews that say the teachers manual is not necessary. I personally really like having it. We work together and he follows along in his book when I’m reading and vice versa. There is also diction in the teachers manual that is not in the student workbook, and lots of samples throughout.

After 14 years of homeschooling…10/10
I have been on the search for the perfect writing curriculum forever…literally over 10 years! I love this one! It is well thought out, not overwhelming for teacher or student, and by the time they start writing they are confident because it has been clearly explained.
