Wow, this thing noticeably works!
I've had a a hum from the chassis on my naim 5si since new. Not a deal breaker, but it stops me from fully enjoying my music and its a pain!!!. Ive lived with it but was curious if i could clean it up. With this thing plugged in I heard the initial buzz (and thought oh no!) and then after 5 seconds it softens and dissipates. It doesn't go completely but is much, much improved. I tried a test with and without the gizmo and confirmed it. I'm playing Enya's Orinco Flow from CD as i type and i notice notes appearing to 'ping' with more sound and crispness with better decay (possibly my ears) but I've noticed a difference! Sound from my rega turntable also seems cleaner, with better timing. I bought mine 2nd hand from Amazon and certainly recommend it. Thanks.. Marky Mark Vinyl NutUpdate, Amazon sent me the wrong product (defender) they look similar. Ive eventually got the DC blocker and plugged it in! It works completely!! No more hum from the chassis of my amp!! I'm delighted!

It works !
Now a lot of hifi accessories either don't work, are horribly overpriced, or both. I'm glad to say this is neither. I bought it because I had a hum from my Denafrips DAC which I thought was caused by DC offset. Turns out it was caused by a crypto farming rig in the next room. No crypto, no hum.Instead I tried the DC blocker on one of my subs, both of which merrily hum away. Success ! Complete silence. Proving that a) I have an issue with DC offset and b) this fixes it.Incidentally I found when I tried the DC blocker on my DAC it seemed to marginally, but adversely, affect the sound. No idea what this means but it may be it is more suited to amps than source components.Edit: the crypto farming rig is my son's. Just in case you thought I was an environment destroying money crazed scoundrel of the first order. He gets away with it because he is young and likes building stuff

Be ready to return, if purchased
Didn't resolve my amp power supply hum. The packaging got recycled by mistake otherwise I would have returned it.

Still humming along...
It took me a while to 'bite the bullet' and purchase this for my hifi system; which emits a notable hum from the transformer in the amplifier. I was on the fence for a while after reading a mixed bag of reviews, but, having good previous experience of the ifi brand and also the item being on sale, decided to take the plunge...and well...results are mixed. The whole point was to reduce the transformer hum and sadly this really did not change at all, fortunately the hum really is only a minor annoyance and doesnt effect any music listening at all...so why three stars?...I do feel it has had some POSITIVE impact on the music, notes seem slightly easier to delineate, bass seems tighter, and no perceived lack of dynamics (which I was mainly worried about), so for now the little ifi stays...just like the hum.

This just works
My Arcam AVR750 amp has a toroidal transformer, and for some reason, the mains in our house becomes really dirty around 10 pm at night, resulting in an audible hum from the transformer. Inserting this blocker into the power cable has stopped this completely - no hum at all any more. No noticeable effect on the sound quality otherwise, but it is so nice to not hear the hum in quiet sections! It's not particularly cheap, but it is trivial to fit and it just works. If you are afflicted with a humming toroid, this will probably fix it.

Works but not in the way I anticipated
Purchased this to use in my Rel subwoofer (2 channel stereo) that had a low level hum between tracks. It didn't improve the hum to any notiocable degree; however, bass was tighter and had more impact.I then tried it in my Denon amplifier, that doesn't have a toroidal transformer, to see what effect it would have and I found it to remove a layer of hash and digital glare that I hadn't noticed was there before.Bought a second IFI DC blocker so I could have one in the subwoofer and one in the amp.Quite expensive for what they are and didn't kill the hum in my subwoofer; however, they improved the sound of my system so they get 4 stars.

Worth trying
Annoying buzzes can be frustrating, even to the point of distraction, especially if you're playing your music at a low level.Like all 'tweaks' this is one that is worth trying as if definitely removed a slight hum emanating from the mains transformer of my Luxman amp. Luxman power supplies are well designed and if this removes hum, then that cannot be a bad thing can it?Cannot say it improves sound quality by an appreciable margin though it seems to create a quieter background with vinyl replay.Try it on your amplifier in your system and you may well be pleased.

Great asset to amplifier
Reduced background noise on the phono stage of the amplifier by 40% also tidied up other inputs slightly reduced volume but well worth the money

Works great!!
I have been having issues with my amplifiers' transformers humming/buzzing. It happened to my previous tube amp and now with my solid-state amp, caused by DC offset. (Please notice this humming is coming from inside the amplifier as it is a mechanical noise rather than an electrical noise you can hear thru your speakers. Although you may hear hiss and low lever hum on your speakers, especially if your speakers are highly efficient, that is not caused by DC offset on your power line and can be caused by ground loops or the intrinsic noise by the amp.)We recently got a new toaster/oven/air fryer that makes my amp's transformer buzz even louder when my wife is using the oven. (This is a problem even when my stereo system is connected to a dedicated circuit branch on its own circuit breaker and connected via an Audioquest Niagara 3000.) That is when I decided to try the iFi DC Blocker. As soon as I connected the iFi the buzzing/humming from the amp's transformer came down considerably. I could hear it before from my listening chair. With the iFi, not anymore. I was surprised that it also improved the sound of the reproduction of lower frequencies (coming out with more weight and cleaner) as well as the amp sounding more open sense in terms of soundstage. On the negative side, the high frequencies sounded elevated as compared to before. However, after 72 hours of my amp being turned on (my amp is on 24/7), the high frequencies sound as sweet as before. Either I got used to the new sound or the IFi needed a break in.Highly recommended for those with amp's transformer issues.

Algo me hizo, pero no del todo
Algo me filtró el ruido que me producia la etapa, pero como no lo eliminó del todo y hay gente que dice que influye en la calidad del sonido, prefieri no usarlo

It works!!
I was skeptical after trying a lot of solutions to the humming noise from my amplifier. But after installing the dc blocker the sound of the amplifier was quiet, only a small ground buzz remained from the speakers. So after also installing the ifi ground defender all noise was gone, without impacting the sound quality!

Es nimmt das Brummen des Netzteils
Meine Endstufe hat ein Brummen, wir vermuteten Gleichstrom. Bei dem Preis war es einen Versuch wert.Eingesteckt brummt nicht mehr.Keine klangliche Verschlechterung.Bin begeistert.
