This book is one of those things you didn’t know you were looking for till you found it. Only half way through and already using techniques to bring me back to my safe place and face situations in a way I’ve never been able to before. For me it really is life changing - Everybody should read this book.

Amazing
Amazing book, absolute must read. Deb dana explains everything so beautifully, such a delight to read it but at the same time, full of theory. I'm absolutely loving it, such a great book.

Possibly the best book I ever bought!
I'm only two chapters in and already I feel so much better equipped to handle any moments of stress, both in myself and in my children. This book is spot on with advice, it is a dense and scientifically based read, but extremely clearly written and explained. I am sure I will be reading and rereading it for years to come and have already recommended it to lots of people.

Accessible and essential knowledge for our times
Accessible and essential knowledge for our timesDeb Dana does a really good job making this information accessible to everyone. It is absolutely necessary information to help parents, co-workers, partners, social interactions. It addresses the issue of nervous system Disregulation That leads to conflict. Absolutely essential life changing information. I am a psychotherapist and I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to lead a calmer and more productive life, And address patterns of reactivity that stem from trauma, whether it is relational (our childhood) or incidental (something that happened) . It also Could be of help to people on the AST, and the people supporting them. Highly recommended!

Easy to read and follow
I am still referencing this as I learn more about PVT. I had to take a long time to absorb PVT by Dr Stephen Porges and Deb Dana applies his work to a therapy framework that is very easy to understand.

Wow! Wow!
Is there anyone who makes Polyvagal theory easier to comprehend AND implement than Deb Dana?! Excellent read. Very similar to her first book, but revisiting new and known thoughts from the pen and thoughts of Deb is worth every penny and more.

Nice
Very knowledgeable, finding it hard to get into with big words and so much information. Feel a little out of my element and like I need to read more on it before diving into this book.

Non scientific
Disappointed with this purchase as the initial review was by a PhD, so I was expecting a more scientific approach. I am happy to "place my hand on the back of my neck and the other on my chest and feel my polyvagal nerve" but would have appreciated a more detailed description of the autonomic nerve system and its branches (there is one image in the book with no description or scientific names).

Really helps me understand how my anxiety works and how to handle it
Great book. My anxiety and depression make so much more sense after reading this. I feel like I have a biological and emotional understanding of it, plus lots of tools and explanations for helping me stay in a better state.
