It’s a box it holds the wire,is it the best you decide. I prefer metal but these are cheaper in cost comp, but remember plastic doesn’t always work in cold regions, it becomes brittle in sunlight, and at temps below freezing, so steel is super nice those were the days when you could run wire in the Arctic lol hahahah, no seriously these are fine, good product, unless your under water or in wet areas, don’t use them for exteriors. These I’m using for my lawnmower to store snacks inside while driving mowing etc,mi mounted them under the steering wheel so I can place a drink inside of can of pop and some m&ms, so the tiny holes allow moisture to drain away and the deeper boxes stop water bottles or soda from falling out of. Yep and a touch of spray paint makes this all work well now. As for other uses I nailed a few to trees, and place nuts inside of them the squirrels love them they can sit on the box and eat, and also works well for sand sifting, if your on a beach you can place this on a old time surfboard and whammy you have a party going on, I remove the nails and let kids build sandcastles with these as well, goes well with any sandbox, now as for its primary purpose it’s not used, as I believe once you go steel you not go back. 🙈👍👌
