I first encountered this type of binder while working for the state. Files required routine purging but we always saved the pressboard report covers to use again. They held up well for literally decades and decades! Later, when I set up accounting systems for private corporations, I used Smead Pressboard Covers when submitting period reports to customers as well as to hold my own copies. They are slick looking, well made and survive for years, keeping important accounting and contracts clean and accessible.

Good price. I use these to store prior year accounting records instead of 3 ring binders. Slowly working toward paperless.

If you're ordering these or considering these, you know what they are, and you know what they do. Order them if you need to keep related sheets of paper together. They do the job for which they're designed quite well.

Compressor bands which slide to hold the prongs down were missing from 5 of the 25 folders - see photos. Hopefully, Smead will check future boxes before shipping. Otherwise, I love these folders! The green is a nice shade, and they hold up to 300 pages.

Just what I expected. The only complaint I have is that the prongs are too short so the amount of pages these can hold is limited. But virtually all pressboard binders use the same length prongs. It used to be possible to get these in different lengths. ( a long time ago).

We have been ordering these files for years and you physically could not tear them. Now, they are sending this cheap cardboard material that is easily torn. My provider was selling them for $7 a file so we came here in hopes to find the old ones. They are not the old ones and are not qualify that will hold up. I'm sorry if it's due to raw materials not being accessible but I think it's dishonest not to disclose that this is no longer made with plastic/recycled materials. It's cardboard.
