I know slings, buy this one
In the period between a shoulder prosthesis removal and a new shoulder I have tried lots of devices to try to get comfortable. The FlexGuard slings are the best I've found for support and pain management, in fact they are identical in function to the one I got in the hospital but much more durable. They are adjustable, there is no pressure on my neck and I can make them tight enough to prevent bouncing so I can walk for longer. The blue one is soft, stretchy and breathable and is great to sleep in, a major challenge after any kind of shoulder surgery. The black one is good for daytime, it's solid, sturdy and nicely adjustable.I had trouble with some velcro and customer service responded within half an hour of my first message and is sending a new one even though it was slightly over the return window. So far so good, I'll update when I get it.Update - the replacement arrived as promised.Great customer service, great products, both the blue and the black slings.

So happy I bought this!
I recently got into a minor accident and fractured my shoulder. After a few days of wearing the one historian gives you and being told that I will have to wear it for at least 3 weeks, I needed to find one more comfortable and suitable. I’m a single mom with a young son and 2 cats lol........ and now one working hand (with 2 fingers temp nerve damage). I’ve had to become creative in finding ways to do things. This sling is absolutely amazing!!!It’s very comfortable and great quality. It’s not completely closed so you don’t get sweaty snd it’s quite breathable. The straps are adjustable which is great but my favourite part is the chest strap. This holds the position in a safe a secure way. The hardest part is bending over when using dishwasher or cleaning litter or just trying to put shoes on. The chest strap allows you to do these things without having to tense up the injured arm to stop it from moving. It’s great for sleeping with so you don’t have to worry about injuring it while you sleep. I used the chest strap with the hospital sling as well.Like wearing any sling for a long period of time, you get soar neck and shoulders from basically carrying your arm 24-7 and can get tension in muscles.I do wish they had added some padding on the straps but the overall functionality trumps the straps. Highly recommend

Instructions of no use; impossible to do alone
UPDATE: After searching YouTube for videos using a sling similar to this one, I am now able to put this on by myself. I don't think I have the straps right but they work well the way I have them. Once I figured that all out, I have to say this is a helpful and comfortable sling. For the most part, my shoulder stays immobilized. The only aspect I find frustrating is the band that goes around to keep the shoulder from moving sometimes slips down or even up. I have changed my review to 4 stars, docking one only because it can be painful for the band to slip.My doctor wanted me to wear a sling to immobilize my shoulder. I wasn't a fan of the one he gave me, so I went online to see what I could find. I read so many reviews my head was spinning. I decided on this one because it looked like it would work the best at immobilizing my shoulder. Before I review the actual product, let me first say that the company who sold it seems like a great company. I have received a couple emails with tips on how to make the most of my time of healing. That said, though, the sling itself gave me so many issues.1. The instructions that come with it are not helpful at all. It is a card with four pictures. The most important part to figure out, though, is not shown on the card, and that is what to do with the straps once they have been crossed in the back. I looked back through questions and other reviews and it seems this is a common agreement. There are a few who apparently figured it out. I have not been able to.2. Maybe, if the instructions on how to actually put it on were there, this aspect wouldn't be a huge issue, BUT, this is impossible to put on by myself. I already have a shoulder issue. Trying to wrangle my way into this thing ramped my pain level up by leaps and bounds. My husband finally rigged it so it would "kind of" do the job, but I wonder if it would be more effective if the sling were put on correctly. He could not figure out, either, how to get the straps to velcro to the sling once they were crossed in the back. He ended up velcroing them to the immobilizer belt in the back of me. The problem with that, is without the proper support of the sling itself, my forearm slouches at a downward angle, pulling at the tendons in the already sore and damaged shoulder.I wish I could leave a glowing review. I just cannot. My search continues for something that has clear directions that will help immobilize my shoulder.

Great in theory, bad in execution . . .
This looked like a really comfortable brace, so I purchased it. It is NOT, in fact, comfortable. This is in large part, due to the fact that I am a 170 lb woman with a 42DD chest. The immobilizer is just not big enough to go around both my back and my breasts and still allow my arm to be positioned in a natural and comfortable position. There is no way to adjust it.If I'd had another person available to help me put it on, I might have had more luck, but I didn't, so after fighting with it for about 20 minutes (and re-injuring my shoulder), I had it barely attached and it was tighter than I would've preferred. My arm was in a torturous position too. After wearing it for about an hour, my elbow, wrist, and bicep were stressed, so I gave up.I think there's a slim possibility that this product would work better for men (and women who are a c-cup or less).

Great Sling
The sling not only provided support, but the binding band across my body totally prevented me from moving my shoulder….exactly what I was looking for since I have a stress fracture, and am trying to avoid surgery. I’m now attempting to play my beloved game of pickleball one handed. We shall see, but I have hope.
