I downloaded this free e-book to supplement my collection of quilting books. I have been a quilter for over 30 years, and like to have as many reference books as I can. I like the fact that it has simple blocks and teaches the reader how to construct them in a simple manner.The author, Felicity Walker, presents the material in a simple, concise manner that beginners can understand. She also makes it interesting enough to keep more advanced quilters engaged in the content. She gives basic instructions on fabrics, piecing, and then goes into details on each of the twelve blocks she includes in the book. She uses simple piecing methods, which can be used by beginners successfully.In conclusion, this e-book was a good addition to my collection. It is well worth picking up if you are a beginner, and a good reference if you are an experienced quilter.

Very happy with this book. Easy to follow instructions and fabrics buying details. This quilt went together easily and quickly. I would definitely recommend this book to beginning quilters.

I am new quilter and I found this a pretty good book on making some quilt blocks. She gave good clear instructions and included diagrams. No complaints with this book.

Good diagrams, pictures, instructions. Frees you up to get creative and make pillows or others design ideas.Also tells you how much fabric to buy.

This book includes how to make an entire quilt from start to finish. It details what you need both equipment and fabric. Then, it tells you what and how to cut each piece, and then how to put it all together.Very well done.

I'm hoping this will help me to learn to make quilt blocks, but I have just finished the cutting and the amounts given are woefully off. Esp. the amount given for the teal fabric, which there is just no way to get all the pieces from. I also ran out of red, but I think that is because there is no strategy suggested for cutting so you can get all the required pieces out of the fabric. I probably had enough red scraps if it was calculated out, but not in big enough pieces that I could get all that correct pieces needed. This is disappointing considering how expensive fabric is. For both the red and teal pieces I have to order more fabric. For a book for beginners, the author should have realized that we need more direction figuring out the puzzle of how best to cut our pricey fabric.

This book has very easy-to-follow instructions with a beautiful quilt as a result. There are simple step-by-step instructions for common blocks and these chosen blocks look good together. With a splash of red and green in every block backed with a white background and soft grey sashings, this quilt is very fresh, crisp and appealing.

If you do this is the one to buy. It is full of easy to understand instructions, diagrams and photographs that make everything very easy to learn. Perfect for even the most nervous beginners and people looking to brush up there skills .
