If you are looking for a transparent overdrive, this is not it. The pedal is for fans of dirt. And a lot of dirt to their overdrive sound. The Boiling Point has plenty of sound varieties, though, from the boost/clip switches. But none of those had a fully equalized sound and usually dropped all of the bass from the guitar from when it was bypassed clean. Also, this pedal was very noisy for me and created a lot of feedback buzz when I had it plugged into my daisy chain. Maybe it works better by itself or through a different power supply but I prefer to have mine connected through a chain. Boiling point looks great and may have more modes than the standard tube screamer, but I give it 3 stars for its lack in quality transparency and noise feedback.
