Good place to Start, Needs Some Work
This book was a good place to start for someone just learning about graphic design. Most of the info. is kind of common sense but it's good to see it and have it all in one place and kind of define the basic rules of the game. The many color pictures were clear and helpful. The physical book itself was cheaply made with typos and mistakes that seem kind of embarassing for a book about graphic design (for example the quotation marks are in the wrong spot and the letter 'q" is replaced with a question mark box). The last two pages of the book were too large and didn't fit in the book properly.

7 Stars!
This is a good example on how to write a book and teach. The "pipeline" on how to get an idea across was really nice. What I would want more are starting motivations (notably to the theory as well as relevant problems that one would want to solve, vs. starting with just giving the tools/theory), but the theory, examples with relevant pictures, and practical use explanation I enjoyed. For the picture in particular, many books include pictures which either have too much going, are too irrelevant or tangential, or both. This book does a good job of illustrating how to do illustrations, which is to keep the picture simple for education, making a single clear point and not cluttering it with nonrelevant things that can distract.

that’s what I need about graphic design
The book used the easy way to show the most important elements of graphic design and It’s more practical, not a book talking about theories or history etc.

Graphic Design for Beginners!
I found this book very informative and helpful. I don't have a background in graphic design or anything art related and was really surprised by how informative and resourceful this book was. I like how the author put the information in basic terms and loved how she broke the book down. This is a very helpful guide. *I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.*

Beginners information
This is an great book for a beginner. It's easy to understand, step by step, and she also gives you links for free downloads as you go. That's great, because, whether you're wanting to do it as a career, or just as a hobby, it gives you a chance to see whether you want to spend money on expensive software, or even need to. If you know anything about computers, you'll pick it up easily.

Simple
Pretty broad overview and nothing in-depth. I glanced down at my percentage at one point and was already at 88% but thought I was still on the introductory sections. There were also many typos and pretty severe grammatical mistakes. Some things I was totally confused on and there was nothing to help me understand more (like using texture in typography). Lots of plugs for her other books and things. There were sections that seemed copied then pasted from an entirely different book about perhaps writing a book or designing a book cover. Overall, I wouldn't recommend. The only takeaway I have is what a "simultaneous contrast" is. Knew the concept, not the word for it. I read the whole book in about 2-3 hours.
