Impressive! Outdoes previous mod kits.
You have two ways of applying this mod kit. These are my recommendations for how to proceed:Non-soldering method:Quick summary:Simplest method, but the LEDs are toggled manually and do NOT turn on/off with the controller. Recommended if using as a display piece.Full summary:If you don't intend to use the controller for gaming too often and mainly want to show off the finished product, then it might be best to go with this method since you can just toggle the LEDs regardless if the controller is on or off. This might seem like the simplest method, but trust me when I say it is annoying to have to turn on the LEDs every time I pick up the controller and turn them off when I put it away. On the plus side, you only have to hold the Back/View(?) + Start buttons for 1 second to swap between color profiles, so it might not be too terrible to use for gaming, but I still wouldn't recommend it.Soldering method:Quick summary:Requires soldering tools, but the LEDs turn on/off with the controller and your color selection is saved every time. Recommended if primary use is gaming.Full summary:If you intend to play with the finished controller (like me and everyone else), then you'll want to use this method. It's a HUGE added convenience that quashed one of my main gripes towards ExtremeRate's other LED mod kits for the Switch Pro Controller and— especially— Joy Cons. Additionally, your color profile is saved even after you turn off the controller or remove the batteries, so you don't have to keep scrolling through the different colors every time you pick up the controller. The only downsides to this method are: 1) the LEDs can't be turned on while the controller is off and 2) the LEDs can't be turned off while the controller is on. Basically, the LEDs are dependent of the controller status, so you lose the freedom of being able to toggle the LEDs whenever you want. If this is a concern for you, then the first method is probably best for you.=====================With that out of the way, here's my actual review:The buttons look and feel really nice with the black Xbox Series controller. The included matte buttons look really good with the matte controller shell. The travel distance and resistance in the buttons also feel the same— except the Back, Start, and Capture buttons, which seem to have a slightly farther actuation distance, but it's not too significant. My main reason for returning the Switch Pro Controller LED mod kit was because it added more resistance to the buttons, which heavily impacted gameplay. However, this is not the case for this controller mod. The thumbsticks and D-pad also feel just like the OEM parts. The LEDs are very bright, so brightness isn't an issue with this. This would definitely be an eye-grabber while sitting atop a shelf or desk. I do wish the soldering method had more options like being able to disable the lighting while the controller is on because sometimes I want to save battery life.I'm a little disappointed that the mod kit doesn't include LEDs for the bumpers and triggers, but I'm just being picky. I would highly recommend this if you have experience with soldering and want RGB on your controller.

Works, if you don't have defective parts
Installed fine. First time soldering and I figured it out, and everything works except for the A button and the D pad. Slight plastic manufacturer defect in the plastic on both pieces, so the A button gets stuck and won't click, and the D pad also gets hung up when clicking to the right. The lights look great and I want to love it, but it's basically a defective controller now that I can't use unless I get replacement parts or order another kit. We'll see how customer support goes.Update 2-12-22: Played a bit of phone tag with messages from extremerate customer service. After submitting pictures and verifying my issue they said they will send me replacement buttons. So far so good. Also put in the original d pad and A button back in the controller so it works as normal now (and also lights up for all the buttons except the d pad and A). Changed to 3 Stars. Will update after receiving replacements.Update 3-4-22: Received replacement parts and everything works great now. Overall I'm very happy with the end result and am glad that customer support resolved my issue, eventually lol. Changed to 4 stars. I would recommend this product.

Awesome led mod
Awesome little led mod. For lighting up the controller. I personally do the soldering method so it will turn on and off with the controller. If you use the battery terminals no soldering method you have to hold the start and pause for 5 second or so to turn them off and on.

Needs more adhesive
I have done two controllers. One soldered and one not. Installation not bad. The one thing both had a common was the led lights that go under the thumb sticks will not stay in place. I recommend using strong double sided tape to keep them in place.

Looks good, ruins controllers
I installed this in a 20th anniversary Xbox controller model 1914 using the original buttons, as this model has a transparent shell that the light shines through. It looks fantastic. My problem is that now my A, X, and Y buttons feel absolutely terrible. They are mushy and do not spring back with much force. They often drop inputs, and the lack of tactile feedback makes it hard to know when/if you actually press the button and register and input.I took the controller apart several times and made sure all screws are tight. Nothing helped the situation. I used the original buttons since they are nicer than the ones provided by the manufacturer, and I ended up shimming them with a piece of electrical tape on the back of these 3 buttons. This helps them register inputs without dropping them (most of the time) but they still lack travel distance / tactile feedback. The controller looks fantastic but feels so bad it is unusable, and reduces my performance in almost all games. A dropped input is the difference between a win and loss in many situations.I should note the B button feels great, as it's set back on the other PCB and is a longer button. I have taken the controller apart and put it back together close to 10 times now trying to fix the A, X, Y buttons, but I have come to the conclusion I assembled it properly. I believe the aftermarket clear contact pad they provide is defective or of lesser quality than the OEM rubber. This is necessary to use since the light shines through this.I emailed support about this issue and described it in even more detail than I did here. They responded and clearly didn't read anything I wrote, and simply requested a video of the problem. This is something that will be hard to demonstrate in a video, and the fact that they made no effort to read my well-written description of the problem was insulting to me, and an indicator of a poor product and poor customer service. Thus, I have to lave a 1 star review that may be adjusted if support comes through.Don't buy this product for any controller you want to use or you will regret it.

Poor method
One of the strip connectors are supposed to tuck under the battery holder but that bit is soldered down, so unless you do the soldering part, the power from the battery method will not work, I ended up tearing part of it now I'm down £30

Led kit
The LED kit looked great until you put all back together to find out that it hard to press the A button and X button. The RT was active all the time when not being pressed. I took the controller apart 7x to try find the problem which was the circult was interfering with the board. I took the kit off and it gone back to working order now once the kit is off. This caused pain and tears as i was really hyped about it.I bought two one for the other controller and both did the same. So ive wasted £60 on rubbish

Easy to install & really bright
The media could not be loaded. For the price this kit is awesome, I don't know why there are so many bad reviews for it. Took 45 minutes to install and voilà! I did it the "no soldering" way and when the two connectors are tucked under the battery contact its all done, it was the most tricky part but it was not so bad.
