Avène Mineral Sunscreen Multi-Defense Fluid SPF 50+

This is a really nice option if you’re looking for a gentle, physical sunscreen. It has a watery formula, which can make application a little tricky at first, but it absorbs well and feels very lightweight once it’s on. It’s alcohol- and fragrance-free, which is super important to me since I’m sensitive to a lot of formulas and ingredients. Plus, it doesn’t sting my eyes at all — a huge win. While it does leave a slight white cast on facial hair, it’s much better than most physical sunscreens I’ve tried. It also has some great skin-beneficial ingredients like niacinamide, allantoin, vitamin E, and bisabolol, which help soothe and support the skin barrier. If you prefer to avoid chemical sunscreens or are sensitive to stinging, I would definitely recommend this. It’s a great choice for anyone with sensitive skin!

I purchased this for my very sensitive facial skin. It doesn't cause any irritation and it has no bothersome fragrance as many sunscreens do. I think it is a good choice for sun sensitive skin or for those who will be out i the sun and want to protect their skin. At 50 SPF, it is very protective.

I’ve been using this sunscreen for a few weeks now and I’m absolutely loving it. As a sensitive, acne prone skin girlie I have gone through so many sunscreens that were either way too heavy and caused irritation, or felt okay on my skin but were slowly contributing to my clogged pores. This sunscreen takes the cake! It’s lightweight and absorbs really well even on top of moisturizer. It leaves a very small white cast at first but once it absorbs that white cast disappears. I love that it’s mineral based and doesn’t have any chemical UV filters (which are not even recognized as safe OR effective). Would definitely recommend to anyone with sensitive or acne prone skin.

This is a mineral based sunscreen and is highly rated. It does not have a lot of additional additives, very pure. Effective protection. It is a bit more expensive but seems to go a long way.

This lotion is very sticky and feels very heavy. I love their non SPF face lotion so much and I wanted to love this but I can’t stand it on my skin.

I’m struggling to find something positive about this to put in the pro column.Cons:It’s a watery fluid, which on its own would make it more challenging to apply, but it is also *gluey*. Like smearing elmer’s glue on my face. Sticky, yes, but also resisted being spread.White cast is extreme. I usually don’t mind a little bit of white cast as I’m fair complected, but with this, even after 30 minutes, I still looked a bit ghostly. And this was after spending a good bit of time trying to rub it in.Shiny, greasy finish. And it pilled pretty badly, even without putting anything on top. And stings my eyes.Pros: none.This is truly the worst sunscreen I’ve tried in a long time. I’m usually a fan of Avéne products, so I’m a bit shocked at how bad this is.
