Stronger Part & Perfect Fit
If your chair made poping sounds replace it with this part. After I replaced on my chair it made world of difference. So quite now. Like a new chair. Make sure you look up mesurements to confirm alinement before you order. This may seem like a waste of time. It is the best way I could think of to ensure the proper fit. Great product. In the future I would like to see a full line of chairs produced with this well built product.

Great quality
Close to 20 years ago I bought a poker table with four chairs at a Home and Garden show. I loved the table and while it doesn't get used all the time it's great for parties. I noticed a few of the chairs weren't sitting right and I discovered this type of mechanism that came on the original chairs was damaged. I ordered these as replacements and they went on easily and function perfectly. There are not a lot of options I could find at this size so I was thrilled these worked so well.

It looks and feels tough
Good item, I was able to install it right away. It fit exactly the way I needed it to and it’s still going strong.

Optimistic weight “rating”.
The primary plate is heavier than standard, but seems to be made from a softer grade of steel, and the lean-back spring seems to be the same as normal. When I sit back to instigate the lean-back function I immediately have to lean forward to soften the “landing” or risk permanent damage. I have the adjustment spring as tight as it will go.It claims to be rated for 500lbs, but I weigh 340 ish, and wouldn’t recommend it for anyone heavier. For my weight range, if you are willing to be really really nice to it, it should be fine for a while.Edit for completenessIn spite of being different from the original, it fit perfectly without any need for modification. The lever/knob for the height adjustment cylinder is slightly different in shape and appearance, but works fine.

Locked up after 10 days.
I had to wrestle this thing just to be able recline. After I got it put on my chair it would not lean back, swiveled fine, but after tightening & loosening it the tension knob, it still wouldn't lean back. Finally I just laid back as hard as I could, I heard a pop sound then it worked like normal. Every few days it would lock up again, I would tighten & loosen the knob but nothing, so I would lay back hard, hear the pop sound again & it would work again. Now it is locked up so hard that no matter how hard I leaned on it it won't lay back & I even started bending the chair back. Garbage!

Sturdy, Strong and Built to last
Easy to install with the right dimensions. As long as you align the holes with the control seat mechanism and tighten the bolts, this will be so easy to install. Any wrong dimension even off an inch or more will damage or even strip the bolt screw and the chair. Measure first before replacing the part.

Fixed my office chair
My office chair was wobbling in directions it shouldn’t have been. Like my high back. It was just out of warranty. Not wanting to spend another couple hundred on a new chair, search for new parts. Quick measure and couple searches found this. I also replaced the lift cylinder. This was pretty easy to install and operates well. Hardest part was getting the old one off.

For AK racing 10" x 8" I had to do some grinding to make it fit.
This may not have been the manufacturer's fault, but in order to fit the plate to my AK Racing chair, I had to grind out one of the holes to create enough room so I could simultaneously fit all the affixing screws to attach the plate to my chair.
