Initial review - 100% fitment with 2021 X3 and great quality plastic matching original
Quick review after initial installation. The fitment is spot on and the quality of material is very close to OEM plastics around the same area. Camera boots up fine and I have no trouble connecting to the app through Wifi. Installation is more involving then the video shows. My advice is to use the trim tool to open the lower housing first but make sure you pry apart side ways. Google "RB51 05044" for the official BMW instructions on opening this part of the rear view mirror. Once opened the only hard part is cable management as it's a tight but decent fit in there with the extra wiring.More long term usage will follow.

Great design, camera quality lacking
I got the front/rear camera kit. I love the wireless design of the front camera. The install looks so clean on my 2023 BMW X3. I was a bit nervous about buying this due to the other person's review saying it didn't fit their X3, but it fit perfectly for me! The concept of the install is very easy, but unplugging and plugging in the cables is difficult given the small spaces your fingers need to fit into. Plus, the original BMW plastic clips can be annoying to remove without breaking (I took my time and luckily did not break anything at all). It took me about 3 hours total to install both the front and rear cameras. The rear camera power cable is excessively long. I had to hide it under the rubber from one side of the car to the other, and there was still so much cable left I just stuck it to the rear window.I love that the microSD card is easy to access. You can pull it right out the side of the camera, and put it into the USB thumb drive adapter (provided in the box) to easy viewing. You don't need to use WiFi to pull the video clips, although the WiFi did not give me any issues as other reviewers had mentioned. The rear and front video clips are saved to separate folders and time stamped for easy finding. The camera quality is questionable for 4k. I would read off license plates verbally as far as I can see with my own eyes, then check the camera footage later on my giant 4k TV. You cannot make out the license plates at all in the video when i'm reading out the plates, until my car is nearly caught up at a red light. The rear 1080p camera footage isn't great either. The daytime running lights of cars behind me would cause a glare in the camera footage that made it look like there were star wars light sabers attached to the front of their cars (not sure if that makes sense lol).In summary:Looks & design 5/5Accessing videos 5/5WiFi 5/5App ease of use 5/5Video quality 3/5Would I buy again? Yes.

Well designed and good customer service
This dashcam is as good as you can get when you choose the right model for your car. It replaces some trim and look OEM. I installed it on my wife’s car and she didn’t even notice the change. You don’t have the usual eyesore with stuff hanging on the windshield and dangling wires. The installation can be a bit challenging especially when unplugging the preexisting wire but can be done after reviewing the YouTube instructions. One hint not mentioned is that the extra wires associated with the dashcam can be easily tugged behind the last piece of the trim so don’t struggle there. They asked me the car model before shipping to ensure I got the right unit. I submitted a question to the seller afterwards and got a prompt response so it was good experience.

Pretty easy to install with exception of wiring harness.
I got my cam this afternoon and was able to get it installed pretty quickly once I got past the wiring harness. As others mentioned, the wiring harness can be very tricky to unplug given the tight space.Mine was nearly impossible to remove but I figured out why. On the side closer to the rear view mirror (facing down) there's a teeny tiny tab holding the male wiring harness into the female portion. My solution was to take a very very thin screwdriver (like the kind you use for watches or small electronics) and slide it in between the two pieces on the side with the tab. This flexed the female harness just enough to get past the tiny tab holding the harness together and the harness popped out really easily, You're welcome! For everything else, just follow the instructions on youtube for the install. The wifi interface worked easy enough but if you have your phone connected to your car via wireless carplay there will be some connectivity issues as the two will fight for the wifi. You need to make sure you disconnect your car from Carplay in order to connect to the camera. I had trouble downloading videos, as it kept failing, until I disabled Carplay on my phone.Image quality is pretty good on first review. The install is REALLY CLEAN. I like how it's very stealth and blends seamlessly. New plastic trim is a really good match and I don't even notice it after the first few seconds.

Fails to record continuously
It seems that when camera runs over 1 or 3 min clip, there is a pause before new recording starts. So it loses several seconds. In my case it actually lost the most important events more than once. Like there is a clip right before, and then the next starts at few seconds later. Maybe it looks what to delete from old clips, i don’t know. But the camera reliable records interior or my garage, I have a lot of those.UPD 6mo later: pulled card from the car, inserted it in my desktop. 'USB drive is corrupted'. So failed again.

The finished look is awesome. Installation takes longer than expected
I bought this entire due to the integrated appearance, which is very professional looking as if it is factory built . The quality of the ABS cover is not as good as the factory cover but it's not bad, and you won't notice once installed.Installation takes longer than expected due to the limited working space (recommend installing from the passenger side so steering is not in the way). The challenge is to fit all the wires and connector within the small housing. Every tabs has to lined up before closing and be sure no wires are pinched. The video is nice and clear but for some reason, it makes the car appear faster than the actual driving speed.
