I bought this to keep in my hiking backpack, and have used it for so many more things. Currently it's been lent out to my plumber friend who didn't have hers on hand and needed to have a handy light up under a sink. Works great and is nice and bright.

Brighter than the original light and a great value.

Made with low quality junk. Comes with 3 batteries that are dead! Trying to get all contacts to connect at the same time (Which make light?) is literally impossible. Got to bend most contacts on the battery mechanism which your supposed to twist into the actual headlight harness hopefully keeping the batteries "you provided" to stay in contact with the metal contacts that you had to bend/ tweek in order for it to hopefully work......Not gonna happen cheap plastic case breaks!!! GARBAGE SAVE YOUR $6 bucks

i bought this light to mount on the mast of my windsurfer so that i can windsurf at night (i know, totally crazy). so, it has to be bright and waterproof to about 3-4 ft. it is very bright and easy to operate. and the lens/bulb unit appears to be waterproof. however, the battery housing takes on water readily because of a poor design. the switch is covered by a flimsy rubber gasket, which does not really seal (i bought two and they are the same). water readily enter through here even when submerged only 3 inches. Dorcy offered to replace them, but it is clear to me that the problem is faulty design, not just a problem with these particular units. they were quite inexpensive, so its not really worth it to ship them back for replacements that will almost certainly be identically NOT waterproof. i believe i can make them waterproof by adding a rubber o-ring to the battery compartment seal, and by gluing in the rubber gasket - which is how Dorcy should have made them in the first place!

The Dorcy 41 head light has got to be one of the unusual items ever to be invented. For the auto mechanic who spends any time beneath a car, with a wrench in both hands, trying to adjust a work lamp to get the best illumination can appreciate the illumination cast in the right direction simply by a slight turn of the head. It helps to make the work inside or under a car so much easier... In fact, you'll find that any dark closed or confined workspace is more illuminated with the Dorcy 41.

Nice and functional headlight. My only negative comment about it would be that it is larger than it looks in the picture. It looks a bit funny on your forehead, it kind of sticks out. However, if you don't care about how it looks, it will do the job well.

Misplaced the free one from Mobil1. So I bought a like kind one from Amazon.

I usually like the Dorcy products but his headlight was defective and would not even light so I had to return which was no problem. I would go for a little more expensive unit next time. I did buy two LED Dorcy flashlights on Amazon that take 3 AA batteries and they work great! I try to buy LED flashlights that take AA batteries which you can find anywhere and I buy my AA's from Amazon in 36 per box.

It is ok for the price, nothing special, does the job.
