Gauge
I've used this a lot for the last two years. Molding, tires, blowing out the shop a few times a week, and pneumatic tools. Today I took down a 25 year old bolted structure with an impact wrench and just thought I should give a shout out to the makers of this compressor. You can't go zip-zip-zip-zip with 8 gallons undoing corroded bolts, instead having to give it a minute break to build pressure back up after a zip or two or three depending, but plenty of a initial reservoir I thought. Even had a friend comment on how surprisingly quiet it is a number of months ago. Seems to work as good now as it did originally. It did leak air around the pressure switch assembly in the beginning and I couldn't just tighten it a little because the assembly would hit the tank. Had to take all that apart, teflon tape it, and put it back together. It's been a couple years but I recall replacing a fitting. Two things I thought about improving on it and one is the gauge. I have some wagon wheels that say 15 lbs and it's just a guess on the gauge included. Right now I set what appears to be about 15 lbs on that gauge... then tire gauge, add pressure, tire gauge, add pressure... etc until finally, close enough. The other, the drain cock. Thought about lifting the thing off the floor more with larger wheels and adding some to the front, then pointing the drain out the side with copper. Too many other things to do so I haven't got to it but I think about it every time I open that drain. As it is, I'm feeling around underneath the thing to find the drain and have my ears right near the 100+ psi exhausting after I open it.I'd guess the weight empty is about 3-4 gallons of milk. Not that big of a deal. That's my experience. I'd buy it again for sure as it fits my needs fine.

I used to buy from amazon returns, but this was ridiculous
I usually but from returns because it's a couple dollars cheaper and better for the environment. I rarely have issues, but this time was horrible. This is a picture of what the box looked like on my doorstep. Pieces were missing, but I had the parts from my old one. The first time I used it, it started to emit smoke. Now Amazon is great about returns, but I just needed to post about my having to pack up something that has to be in it's original box. Also if this is sent as like new, something should be re-evaluated

Contact CH tech currently for parts and help
We bought this compressor June 2017, 1.5 years ago. Recently the pressure switch failed. I went to eReplacementParts and they had no listing for this compressor model. Called CH tech help. Marsha, very helpful, told me to double check the part and get the serial number. I did what she said and she it's sending the new part at no charge. The reason for the confusion is that it is such a new model, it's not listed on the parts websites yet. I really like the compressor, it's quiet and the right size for us.

Good for home jobs
Aside from painting, this takes care of most jobs if you're not a professional contractor. Unlike pancake compressors that are much smaller but benefit from allowing the tank to hold up to 150 psi, this holds up to 120 psi. Wish that were higher. The pump does not kick on to refill lost air until it drops to about 90 psi, so you're down 1/4 of your capacity before it attempts to refill. Pumps up tires, use on nail guns, blowing shelves off, technically some short burst painting or air brushing, and you can blow out small sprinkler systems. Remember to set the psi output to 40-45 psi, do one zone, wait 5 minutes to refill, next zone, etc. May need to run through each zone twice. If you have the time, it'll save money fast.

Quit after less than 3 years of light use
I've bought 2 different Campbell Hausfeld compressors. The first one lasted over 10 years. This model lasted less than 3 years with light use. It's now leaking in 2 places, at the pressure switch and at the relief valve on the side of the pump...so the compressor just keeps running without building up pressure in the tank. I've ordered a replacement from a different manufacturer.
