Fits perfect on my OSMOS Action when it's mounted on my motorcycle helmet. Good connection and fits in the port well.

I have several of these, primarily because I have 3 Osmo Action cameras. The first one I got didn't work properly, and would constantly fall off the Action. The second one, and this one, work MUCH better, and when coupled with a small external microphone, like the Saramonic SR-XM1 3.5mm TRS Omnidirectional Microphone, you will experience much improved audio quality, directionality, and with the wind sock, reduced wind noise.

As mentioned in a previous review, you must remove the waterproofing door cover in order to use this adapter. The door removal is quite simple, but keeping track of that little door requires extra attention, and you lose your water barrier - which for me would make this a semi-useful product at best... if it worked at all. I purchased a water-resistant camera to capture an upcoming motorcycle trip, which necessitates the use of an external mic in the helmet. I've attempted to connect multiple, new lapel microphones to no avail. I either received a faulty product, or there's an incompatibility issue with multiple microphone brands. I could not get a response from the vendor and there are no instructions available for this product. Even if it were functional, I wouldn't recommend it for anyone needing to use an external microphone for any inclimate weather recording. This is a fair weather friend, and might not work at all.

I have an osmo action camera and intend to use it for blogging. But , probably you know that , you need a device like this to be able to use external microphone with your camera .I got a fantastic mini shotgun microphone from Amazon and was dying to use it with .It works great let me say . Easy to use , easy to install . Very simple to use .A must have for this particular reason. I’d say do get it ! That’s all I am gong say.

This review will be a bit off because I ordered this with the intent of using it on my Osmo Pocket. I don't own an Osmo Action cam but I've seen comments regarding the Dual mic adapters working on the Pocket so I wanted to test that functionality. It doesn't work ;( It looks like this device is hard coded to only work on the Osmo Action camera. I dinged one star because it is over priced for what it purports to do. Other reviewers that have tested it stated that you must removed the USB-C cover on the camera in order to install it. Since I don't have an Osmo Action I can't validate that but I can state the instructions are very simple, the image shows plugging it into the USB-C port there is no mention of removing any covers. Please verify with the vendor if that is a requirement before purchasing this product.

Tried it literally on 4 different DJI Osmo Action Cameras. Did not work at all with two of them. On the other two - what audio I could record was completely horrible - simply static and clicking no actual audio was captured. Simply doesn't work.

I specifically purchased this to use with the Rode Wireless Go II dual mic system. This would allow me to have 2 people with microphones and record split channels (1 person on Left channel, other person on the right channel). When vlogging, it's VERY helpful to have the option to mute one person during a longer conversation.I have not been able to get this to work using this "split" mode (Rode Wireless Go II setting) with this adapter (the 2nd mic does not get recorded). The only way it has worked so far is by using the "merged" mode which doesn't allow me to mute people separately. (which means I can't mute myself in post when I'm fumbling for something while my other half is talking).The door on the Osmo is easy to remove but it is no longer waterproof. Which is a big bummer. Not as big as the problem with not being able to split channels for my usage, though.

I like the idea of using an external mic with my Osmo Action. This device makes that possible and it can be used with or without the cage installed on the camera. But there is a huge drawback that I don’t see mentioned in the Amazon description. You must completely detach the door that covers the compartment to use the device. Otherwise, it will not fit. That means it is neither quick, nor convenient to install. It also exposes the USB-C port and SD card when the device is not attached.I couldn’t find any instructions that come with this product (it does come with instructions on how to use it) or the Osmo Action on removing the cover door without breaking it, and I probably don’t have the required tools. That means I could not install it on my camera. But I did connect it using a USB-C cable and I plugged in a microphone. It works as stated in the description. I was able to record video with sound using an external mic.If you don’t mind removing the door to the compartment and can figure out how to do it, then I can say this works.
