MGCM4 In 1 Espresso Knock Box and Tamp Station, Espresso Accessories Organizer for 58MM Coffee Tamper, Distributor and Portafiler, Made of Natural High-Density Wood with Four Anti-Slip Pads

I recently made the jump from a Breville Barista Express to a Lelit Bianca. With that I went from 54mm portafilters to 58, and had to upgrade my other accessories. I also lost the magnetic tamper holder in the Breville. So I was looking for exactly this - a tamping station with room for a tamper and a leveler, and a knockbox. There were a few smaller tamper stations that were cheaper and decent looking, but then any quality knockbox was at least $100, and frankly most of them were ugly. There was nothing I was able to find anywhere on the internet that came close to this. When I ordered it, there were no reviews, so I took a chance, but I am happy to say it was absolutely worth it.The quality is really good. Nice, solid and heavy. I was anticipating it to feel cheap, or have some rough finishing, but was pleasantly surprised. The knockbox interior is thick metal, and has some rubber bumpers on the outside of it to fit into the wood frame. It is a snug fit, but easy enough to get in and out to clean and dump. The wood is really nice looking, and it looks much better with the Lelit than my Niche does.My only nitpicks are that my lelit portafilter is a smidge too big and doesn't sit all the way flush in the bottom. I could probably sand it just a little and get it perfect, but it just takes a few seconds to make sure its sitting level. Not sure if the Lelits are a little chunkier than other e61 portafilters. The only other thing is the MGCM on the front. It is what it is. It was in the pictures. Sure isn't a catchy or cool name, but I knew that it was there and I'll deal. At least it isn't in Papyrus or Comic sans right?So - for the value this is pretty unbeatable. It's a nice addition to my coffee station, is just the right size, does everything I want it to, and is much more affordable than any other option.

I put my MGCM box to use right after opening the package. I was immediately pleased with the design that accommodated both my leveler and my tamper. I thought the knock box was going to be bigger than I needed but I now actually prefer the extra room for the pucks to stay dry until dumping. Overall, my workflow immediately benefited from this station. I gave it one less star only because the finishing of the box was not perfect. It looks good, for sure; close examination, however reveals joins that are somewhat exposed, etc. I’m being being nit picky but to anyone interested in receiving a flawless piece of furniture, you might take issue. For that kind of perfection, you’d have to pay tons more. At this price, you get excellent quality. I recommend it to coffee enthusiasts!

Bought this one as a replacement for Saint Anthony Industries bloc tamp station/knock box I used for about a year. The one obvious benefit is large knock box area (I really hated the Saint Anthony one, as it could not fit more than 6-7 pucks). It looks good, even though the box is massive and takes a lot of counter top space. The item I got does not have any obvious quality issues, just a minor imperfections that are hardly noticeable.

It's really nice and very sturdy, however it arrived cracked in two different places. No damage to the packaging, I feel it happened due to natural shrinkage of the wood. But maybe they could be using wood that was aged better. Also it does not fit a rancilio portafilter, but I do give them credit for stating the sizes prior to me buying.

Right out of the box the wood on the bottom had a large crack and a gap. So being a knock box it would only get worse. The box is beautiful and really like the cut outs for the tamper and porta filter. I returned it but still looking for one.

Useful but unfortunately the Breville portafilter handle doesn’t fit in the slot.

For the price compared to other similar knockboxes I probably shouldn't complain, however the block used for mine is a different design than pictured. There is a clear joint/seam at the front of the box where the portafilter rests that they used wood putty/glue to try to conceal vs it having a joint closer to the knockbox. It is a bit of an eyesore for something meant to elevate your coffee corner.Other than that it is functional, the Breville basket does not lay flat due to the thickness of the handle. But aftermarket bottomless filters with a thinner neck on the handle does fit the cutout.

I was so happy when this came in. It is solid and beautiful. For me it was worth the $$$$.

Die Box macht einen recht robusten Eindruck, die Fräsungen für Tamper und Siebträger sind passgenau. Gut gefällt mir der wirklich solide, metallene Abklopfbehälter mit seiner gummierten (wechselbaren weil geschraubten) Stange, den man auch leicht ausspülen kann. Mit ein paar selbstklebenden Filzgleitern sitzt er nun schön stramm in seiner Aussparung, die Geräusche beim Ausklopfen sind damit auch deutlich gedämmt. 99 Euro ist kein Schnäppchen und auf das Branding vor Kopf hätte ich auch gerne verzichtet, aber insgesamt steht die Box gut dar und man hat als "Home-Barista" alles recht platzsparen zusammen.

Not much to not like with this product, it can hold my tamper and distribution tool and the knock box works well. If anything I would say the section where you put the coffee handle to tamp could be cushioned with something so that when you tamp you’re not damaging the wood. That’s about it great craftsmanship with the timber great product

It is beautiful, it is practical. However after some time of use the bottom plank cracked badly. Also it does not fit my portafilter properly.

Für 100€ kriegt man eine inovative Knock-Box-Tamperstation Kombi jedoch aus schlechter Qualität. Das Holz ist sehr billig und hohl. Die Knock Box ist recht klein d.h dass die Farbe an verschiedene Stellen schon abgeplatzt ist weil ich aus versehen den Siebträgen angeschlagen habe.Das 58er Loch vom Siebträger ist auch nicht ganz durchgebohrt so dass Resttropfen und Kaffeemehl durchs Puck Prep drin liegen bleiben und sich das nur Mühsam reinigen lässt.Würde die Station am Liebsten zurück schicken.
