Q: How wide of a tree trunk will it fit? In other words, what’s the diameter of the part where the trunk slides in?

This tree stand is for artificial trees and will hold a maximum of a 2 inch diameter pole. The tree stand hole measures 2.1 inches.

Q: Does the stamps have the hole in the bottom for the tree pole? I have the older artificial that has a pointed end for the stand.

Sorry for the late reply. Just set up tree today. There is only a small 1/4" hole in center of pole base on the stand. If your tree base is pointed semi sharply it may lodge in and stabilize. Your best bet is to buy a cheap hacksaw and cut the tree pole point off. The steel cuts easily (not quickly but doesn't require a lot of strength. Put a strip of tape around the pole base and follow the edge). Even if not cut perfectly straight this awesome base can level it off with its 8 side screw anchors. Hope it helps. Q: We're in socal. would this work for an outdoor 10' tree on artificial grass? last year the tree kept falling over in wind that was not that heavy.

It will not bend or break and has a lifetime warranty but anytime you put a tree outside there will be wind. Put 30 lbs of weight on each leg and you will have no problems in socal.
