for a walking stick you MIGHT try sanding the stick tio down to 18mm (3/5) IF that stick is NOT hollow.

How to stop a squeaking tip?

Never had the problem with the ones I had. Try removing tip and replacing. If it still squeaks remove again and rub a tiny drop of WD40 and replace. If you don't have WD40 use drop of cooking oil or liquid dish soap. To remove tip easily sit on chair and place a foot on top of two sides of cane tip. Put weight on your feet and pull cane up. Makes it easy for this old lady to do it on her own.

Will this tip fit on a DMI walking cane with regular tip?

If a “DMI” cane has a removable tip, it may fit. But I’m not certain what a DMI cane is, sorry.

Is there such a thing as an Odorless cane base? Most seem to have a very strong smell of rubber.

Only one made entirely of metal or wood is likely to be odorless. Even some plastics have an odor. This RMS Cane tip is fantastic and was miracle during our recent trip to Spain and Portugal with a lot of walking. Does not actually smell much at all. Would buy again
