An excellent companion for the Dapr documentation
"Learning Dapr" is well written, clear, and is an excellent companion for the online documentation for this open source project located on GitHub.It is written by 2 of the long term members of the core Dapr development team, with the project from the start. This provides a deep perspective into the "whys", rationales and "whats" of the Dapr feature set, and gives you something quite valuable beyond the online documentation. Plus the book also presents clear examples of how to develop with Dapr in various situations. These supplement the online "how to" examples. Finally, the authors present a number of ways that Dapr can be used, especially concerning its Actors capabilities, that will expand your horizons.Understanding that in the near future Dapr will likely be the glue that holds together typical microservice software architectures, I have been watching Dapr develop since early 2020 by attending all of its biweekly community meetings, plus reading its online documents. And this book has proved to be a valuable resource to pull it all together. Next week I finally have enough time carved out to spend a few weeks developing microservices using Dapr's Pub/Sub capabilities, and I am sure "Learning Dapr" will speed me through the learning curve!George
