Case Study Research: Design and Methods (Applied Social Research Methods)

Solid book, really like the structure. If you want to get a quick intro into case studies, just read the summary after every chapter.

Recommended to me by supervisor, this book is proving to be a great support to me in planning my doctoral research. I now feel much better informed about case study design, and have gone on to read other texts by Yin.

I needed to determine if case study research was for me. I'm in the process of selecting my dissertation methodology. If you only read one work regarding case study research this should be it. Yin is probably cited more frequently than any other author in the field. This work really covers the waterfront and can serve as a guidebook to one wishing to engage in case study research.

英文も簡潔で読みやすく、章立ても分かりやすい。ともすれば「実施しただけ」になりがちなケーススタディだが、この本ではまず手法の位置づけ(How/Whyを知るために実施する）から始まり、評価すべきポイント、実施上の注意点を類型化することで、ケーススタディの妥当性を確認できるようになっている。ケース分析の章はやや抽象的な感があるが、統計的処理ではなく、記述的（文脈から）にデータを分析せよと繰り返し述べられているところに、Yinの主張を読むことができる。データ処理や統計処理の本と併せるなら、この本は非常に有用な参考書だと思う。

Well written, thoughtful, credible and great examples. A must for those developing case studies
