VIA-MEDEX Native American DNA Testing

I just received mine I have tried ancestry and 23&me and DNA consultantsI already knew my answer I knew I was Cherokee didn't show up onancestry but did in 23&me on DNA consultants I called guy said I hadCherokee in me but couldn't not give me a percentage so I did Viaguardand told me I was 8% Cherokee so I don't think its inaccurate plus itsapproved by my tribe I am in so hope this helps everyone.

Having built my family tree back to the 1400s through numerous sites I was excited to finally have a test that would confirm the tribes I was seeing in my tree. I ordered 2 tests, one for myself and one for my Dad. I did my test the same day it was delivered, he didn't do his test until a month later.My results came back with 5% Native blood across 3 tribes, which was in line with what my Ancestry and 23 & Me results were in terms of confirming that there IS native blood in my DNA, however, the tribes did not match anything I had always been told we were, nor did they match the tribes I had traced. I expected my father's results to come back a little higher potentially, and with the same tribes, or at least one or two of them.His results came back with 5% Native blood as well, and across 3 tribes too. Interestingly enough they were 3 completely different tribes! I have lost my faith that this test is valid and feel like I wasted my money, and not just on one test but two! I would not recommend purchasing this test as it seems like a scam.

It confirmed my thoughts that I was some Native American where another DNA test my sister took did not.

I will buy this again for my children because this works very well for what it is testing for.

Not impressed. It's dated and 7% native American Indian but I know it's more and then it's dated I'm 93% other, no indication of what. Very disappointed

they will not let you know anything

I bought this test to see if the results would put to rest a family history question. A little expensive for what i'm doing. Update, test arrived my question was not resolved. Only added more questions.

If your interested in knowing anything other than tribe, don't bother. I received info from them and it was very questionable. I later did the ancestry dna. Don't waste your money on this just go to ancestry. Through ancestry I had 0 native american. With this it stated I was 14% apache. What!?!?.
