Please keep in mind that this version of the Magic Keyboard has been explicitly designed for the new series of macs (MacBook Pros and iMacs) powered with Apple Silicon chip, either M1 or M1 Pro/Max. While it operates even with Intel powered macs, the touch ID key works exclusively with Apple Silicon.besides this warning, the keyboard is compact, keys generate a nice sound when pressed and a cool addition for those using a MBP with an external monitor.

Touch id works for a bit and then stops working.I plan to take it back to apple

The box was opened, and the cable inside was not packed properly. I know how it should be because I ordered a Trackpad in another place. I didn't expect Apple to deliver used products.But the keyboard looks ok and works as expected.

What's not to like? The price.

When you own a mac mini/studio, where it isn't a laptop, having a fingerprint reader is a god send. The keyboards are typically Apple, in a good way and the feedback is great. It's a pleasure to use.After a few weeks of using it and switching back to my Huawei keyboard however, and I had forgotten how much better Huawei's keyboards feel and react. This is highly personal I'm sure, but for me it was like getting used to a winter grey sky and seeing the sun finally come out.

Although specified in description, but somehow I missed that the fingerprint sensor works only with arm Macs (not Intel based).

The keyboard is very handy. Since it connects to my Mac over bluetooth, I can carry it within my backpack with no hassles. I have been using it for over a month now and I have charged it only once. The battery backup is pretty solid. The Touch ID makes it easy to login and do the payments using Apple Pay.
