Prinz Folding Wall-Mounted Desk, Light Brown with Chalkboard Front, Space-Saving Floating Design, Ready to Hang, 36 x 24 x 5 Inches

I bought this wall desk knowing I was going to customize it. It's deep and wide enough to install a 34 inch wide screen. The magnets that are built in the desk are weak. I bought two 90 lbs magnets to fix this problem. I then installed gas springs to help with opening the desk gently. I might buy one that's stronger than I have on now. But it works pretty well. I also bought a power strip and cut a hole in the desk to fit. I could have done a better job but it works.If anyone is planning on doing this as well. Feel free to send me a message. This project was fairly easy to do as long as you have a drill and a cutting saw.FYI they sells desk like this for $1000 bucks. With the monitor and all the parts I bought. Total cost was roughly around $400

Aside from it arriving damaged the design is very poor! The fold up door will not stay closed. We will have to figure out some type of locking device unless we want to have it opened ALL THE TIME! It has some tiny magnets that don’t even line up to make contact. The straps are a joke the get in the way when trying to put into a closed position. You have to reach inside from each end to push them out of the way for the door to close—-which it won’t do anyway because it just falls open!! I had my concerns about those ugly straps when I ordered but it was the only one I could find that was 36” wide. The others I thought looked better but were all 24” so I opted for the larger size. Boy am I sorry I did! I would NOT RECOMMEND THIS ONE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! The box came damaged and had some damage to the desk itself but that has nothing to do with the POOR REVIEW!

Bought this to install and surprise my partner with a Murphy desk workspace. Looks great. Folds up easily. Love the little added storage compartments and the chalkboard was a hit.However, it came pretty cheaply designed. The back is not nailed on very well at all. It started to fall apart right away. I had to get new sturdier nails and some gorilla glue to fix it and make sure it stayed on.It is also not super sturdy when installed. Do not lean too much on it!Basically, it’s pretty neat and works as a lightly used space. But it required quite a bit of extra work to fix the cheap way the back is installed.

I purchased the wall mounted desk for my daughter’s room to save space. The desk came assembled all my his and had to do was mount it to the wall. She went to use it one day and the desk came off the back panel. So the part my husband mounted to the wall was still there but the rest of it came apart and fell. She was hurt in the process. When we observed how it came apart the nails they used to put it together are small and flimsy. So disappointed. ☹️ and upset.

First impression out of the box was that the magnets literally had no effect on keeping the desk up, so I had to glue on my own. Second was that the quarter-inch particle board backing had black splotches all over and was terribly warped. After the relatively easy installation (the only positive that comes to mind), I set my laptop on it and the tiny cheap hinges and the even tinier, cheaper screws visibly flexed, the desk angled downward, and I quickly realized this had no chance of being used for any sort of serious work. I'm not sure what would fail first: the tiny screws, the cheap wood, or hinge itself, but I am confident that any non-child trying to use this even semi-consistently will break it in a matter of days.If this had been purely advertised as a "for-kids" product, I would give it a 3 if it were $50 cheaper. For the price it is and the quality of the components and assembly I got out of the box, this is one of the most disappointing Amazon purchases I've made in my ten years on this site.

The desk worked out well for the space I needed. The straps get in the way when closing, other than that, I wish it was a few inches deeper, 5" is not much space for things other than a few nicknacks! The 3 magnets are redundant as they don't quite hold the chalkboard cover in place, luckily it comes with a hook to hold it up.
