Midlatitude Synoptic Meteorology: Dynamics, Analysis, and Forecasting

I had to purchase this book for Synoptic Meteorology I last semester and its slowly becoming my bible. Also written by NC State professor. Wish my degree was from there some days, but go Pirates! #ARRGGH

This is exactly what I was looking for. A well written explanation of the governing equations and also provides case analysis and real examples: where the equations can be better understood.

Excellent book. Very applicable to synoptic scale forecasting. Excellent treatment of dynamics. I am not sure why the author ordered the chapters the way he did - - I might suggest a couple other different ways to structure the material, which prevents it from being 5 stars, but it is still a good text.

For years I was searching for a meteorology text which would explain in simple terms the mathematical aspects of synoptic meteorology in terms that I could understand. This book has really helped me understand the mathematics behind the dynamics and forecasting that I have been using for 20 years.

This is a great textbook! Clear diction that is precise but avoids unnecessary jargon. I love that it's paperback, since it's still high quality but saves some money.

Easy to understand. Precise. Great addition to the library of a graduate student. I and some of my friends highly recommend it.

This text is meant for Geographers, Climatologists, and Meteorologist. Subject matter well defined and good for advance studies for midlatitude and related weather phenomenon.
