I was looking for a dive book that provided the first step in dive locations. This book was the 2003 edition, and seemed to be an improvement above what I could have found searching similar names on the "Internet" on my own. Since the book was organized into maps, descriptive notes, and photographs, the 300 pages, in large coffee table format, and with beautiful color pictures, it seemed to be just what I needed. Its drawback was that it did not talk about what gear was needed, how the dive would take place, nor did it talk about the dive PLAN, be it from the shore or from a boat, etc. So, the next step for the reader can be: "What kind of dive packages are available", and so on." (Hence, the book was not good for somebody who already had an idea of where to dive.) Yet, for me, as a beginner, this was a great survey of dive sites. Wrecks, fish, caves, lagoons, etc. From this book, my dive trip selection should be a little more accurate.

The media could not be loaded. Beautiful book! My husband really enjoyed receiving this as a Christmas present. In addition to the beautiful pictures it also has some good info about the sites and an appendix with travel tips for the sites. Recommended for the diver in your family

A great purchase for yourself or a gift for any dive enthusiast. Impressive photography and great explanations around it. Worth the money.

This is an exceptional dive book. It goes into great geographical detail about many areas. Don't expect an overview. Each chapter contains an expectional level of detail describing multiple "sites within sites". Some chapters could be sold individually as stand alone books. Very well written and very well photographed. Such quality reflects highly of the authors obvious passion for diving and travel. Even if you don't dive (or read) this book would be an amazingly beautiful addition to any coffee table! Buy it.

I bought this to accompany a scuba tshirt for my son's b'day and he really liked it. Said it reminded him of the "old days" when he looked things up in encyclopedias.

After looking at a picture of the table of contents, I decided to get this book to help me (as a new diver) find interesting places to go. I'd also noticed places I've been before listed, so I hoped for even more info about them. The table of contents is very deceiving. In some cases (Cozumel, Roatan, and others) they are listed as though they will have info included in the book, yet within the pages they are mentioned only as a list of places in a single sentence with no substance to them. It's a very frustrating book if you are trying to look for anything serious! It's a book that's great for laid-back browsing, but no good for trip planning.

This is not only a good gift book for a diver but it is also a nice table book. Large in size and beautiful pictures and information. I want to get the rest of the collection for my husband.
