NETVUE Outdoor Security Camera, Sentry 2 1080P IP Camera

I bought this to replace my Netvue bullet camera that has worked flawlessly for 3 years through all temperature extremes. I am confident that I will get the same solid performance from this product. Installation was super easy because I already had the electrical connection ran to the spot I was going to put it because the bullet camera had previously been mounted there. There are camera's that run on batteries so everyone has to decide the best option for their situation. The obvious advantage with this camera is that I am able to rotate the camera across a very wide viewing angle which I was not able to do with my fixed position bullet camera. There only 2 things I don't like. You can only access the camera through your phone and of course it would be nice to be able to view it from the computer as well. Also this camera does not have a pan and scan automatic function like my Wyze camera does. That is hardly a deal breaker. These cameras do have a remarkably wide viewing angle though and the zoom function is very nice. The thing that always surprises me is how well these digital microphones work. They will pick up sounds from 3 or 4 houses away and everything is crystal clear. The night vision function is remarkable. I have had this camera for over a month now and I am very happy with it.

We bought this because of our prior satisfaction with the mini orb security camera from the same company that we use inside to keep an eye on our dog and cat during the day. We didn't have any security for our front door and decided it might be a good idea to invest in something to protect against those pesky porch pirates (though we've been lucky enough to not get hit by them yet). The outdoor security camera provides even better picture quality than the indoor camera. And the motion detection is highly accurate. The night vision mode is perfect. The camera is also such a great buy compared to other similar products which are twice the price or even more! You can access the video feed from an iPhone app. The app works perfectly and is very easy to navigate. You can also adjust a sleep schedule using the app, turn it into sleep mode manually, and view motion detection screen captures which are taken automatically. I'm extremely happy with this system and recommend it to everyone!

This is my second Netvue camera and I love it! Such a good product for a great price. The setup is easy, the picture is clear, and the app is really easy to use.My only gripe is that it's not the best for an apartment. I wish there was some option (maybe there is??) for attaching it without screwing it into the wall, since I can't do that in an apartment. My solution was to just prop it up on my balcony instead, but I'll be holding onto it until I move into a house and can properly mount it! :)

This is an edit of my initial review:I don't write reviews until I have my first experience with customer service. I had this camera for 10 weeks without any issues. The camera is on a vacation home, 1,000 miles from me, so I needed something that was dependable. After 10 weeks the camera went offline, yet all other wifi devices at my vacation home were still online. My initial contact with customer service left a lot to be desired as they did not seem to understand the specifics of my situation....namely that I was located in another state. However, after connecting with Jessica things changed drastically. She was 100% professional in dealing with an upset customer and did everything she could to rectify my situation. I was immediately offered a refund or replacement camera when she took over my case and a very sincere pledge that my situation would be used for future training of customer service reps. Things have all been worked over the past 4 months and I would not hesitate to purchase or recommend their products.

I bought these cameras even though I was reluctant. Halloween night, we set a candy tray out. Sort of like the honor system. We weren’t 30 feet away from these cameras and set them to go off when anyone approach the porch. Brand new memory card, thinking that this camera which is worth absolutely nothing doesn’t inform me of someone approaching our porch. As I said new memory card, but lo and behold just like half of the other cameras I have of the same brand tells me my card once again for about the sixth time tells me that it Has to be formatted. I am so sick of these cameras. If you decide to spend money on these cameras, do not rely on reviewing any video through the memory card. I think that they purposely make it so you half to purchase the cloud. This is not my first review on the same type of camera. They are not weatherproof when it comes to the memory card. If you buy a similar camera where the climate is dry and protected from the elements, they are OK. But if you’re dumb enough to buy these and install them out in the weather after what I’m telling you then go ahead and spend your money. It’s a shame that I can’t send you a video of me beating these cameras with a baseball bat. I’m sorry to be so dramatic however I can’t believe that these cameras have let me down so many times.
