KamerarD-Fuse Combo: Circle Large LED Light Panel Softbox & D-Fuse Softbox Circle Grid, 11.5"x11.5" (New Patented Magnetic Tubular Lock System)

These things work great! if you have any kind of LED panel light, these can fit on just about any of them. They don't need any frames or adapters for specific lights. They cut down about a stop or two of light for reference. But they work great to diffuse the light, minimize the little micro shadows inherent to an LED panel light, and work to make it just a little bigger source for softer light. And the optional eggcrate/grid works great to bring the angle of light output down to 20°-30° or so, effectively allowing you to keep your light on your subject and off of your background. Quality is really decent for the price point, I think it will hold up pretty well. I have a couple of buddies that have used them extensively in a pro environment for a few years now, and they are still holding up with minor visible wear. Setup is really easy and fast. Compared to other much more expensive($300-$500!) offerings from Chimera, Wescott and the like, this is faster, easier, more effective, and so much less money.

The light box itself is a good design albeit I have seen cheaper options but not circular design. The reason for 1 star is because on arrival one of the magnets which hold the extension bars together was broken in half making that bar semi useless dont know how you break a magnet but broken on arrival

Velcro-straps to a light with barn doors nicely. Offers a *fair* amount of softening to a multi-bulb LED but you ultimately still end up with a fairly "directional" source. You'd need a much bigger scrim to get true soft light. The magnetic side posts work OK but can be easily knocked or collapsed as you move it around. Easily fixed once you're set up. Folds up to a super small and light package. This kit which includes the grid IMO is necessary to prevent side spill from the face of the source. Not a concern if you are in a wide open area. Knocks off maybe 1/2 stop of light or less. Over all if you have a source with barn doors, I question what this offers over clipping a piece of diffusion over the partially closed doors to soften the source. To truly soften a light, you need to have it further back from a larger diffuser. But if you're using multiple lights and moving fairly light/quickly, this will work well, keeping you from being weighted down with scrims, etc. while modifying a raw source nicely. Doubt it will be very stable in windy conditions. Over all, it's not a "wow", but its a nice lightweight and inexpensive addition to the arsenal.

The overall impact of this product is great - it does what it is supposed to do by softly diffusing the light! The only change I would've like to see is the inclusion of a piece of velcro to adhere to my light fixture. The "straps" included don;t do the best job of holding the box firmly to the light. Maybe with a much bigger light it would be better, but with my MyLo setup it more dangles off the fixture. It still works in this way, but I would prefer a tighter/more secure attachment...especially when you occasionally want to reposition the light and not deal with re-dangling the diffuser.I plan to add a velcro piece to my light fixture and to the straps, so I will have a very quick and easy attachment method. It would be nice if this was included in the kit, but it's a minor cost to me to improve an already good product - thus the 4 vs 5 stars!

The softbox is easy to setup and use. The magnets on the supports are a nice idea. I did have a little trouble with the supports staying magnetly connected, but was not a big deal to snap the magnets back together to straighten out the support. The grid work good, Attaches with hook and loop to the softbox. I would have rated it higher if some kind of a bag or strap was included to store the grid in. It comes rolled up but there is no strap or bag to keep it that way and I could see if I just throw in it in a gear bag it could get deformed by being smashed or twisted.
