NINESTARS DZT-42-9 Automatic Touchless Infrared Motion Sensor Trash Can, 11 Gal 42L, Stainless Steel Base (Oval, Silver/Black Lid)

I got this trash to replace the one I've had for 5 years. The old trash can was exactly the same and worked fine, it was my own fault because I threw away the part that holds the batteries so I had to replace the whole thing. It is very convenient because of the motion detector and the positioning of the lid. I have dogs, they love to open it when they walk by but they can't get anything out of it.

I bought this to replace a Rubbermaid plastic container. This one looks so much better in my kitchen! Nice stainless steel body is very attractive, way better than the plastic Rubbermaid. The lid works well and the opening is adequately sized. It's been a couple of months and so far the batteries have held out so no problem there. The separate ring around the top holds the bag well and its nice that no part of the liner shows outside of the container. I'm very happy with my purchase.

I'm very happy with my NINSTARS DZT-42-9 Automatic 11 Gal... But the motion sensor stopped working today (it's stuck in the open position) shortly after maybe a little less than a tablespoon of water maybe 8- 10 good size drops got splashed onto it. I did purchase another one & will be mindful that just a few drops of water may knock it out of commission.I was using CAMELCELL rechargeable batteries & was curious which would last longer the NINESTARS lid or the batteries... The batteries won! They buried one NINESTAR lid... They won't bury three if the second NINESTAR lid doesn't outlast the batteries I'll look into other options.

This can works flawlessly. 1 issue we have with this can is that it takes 3 c battries and it seems like we are going through battries once a month. Now we do use it a lot. Like probably more then average with 3 kids and a stay at home mom. Plus the kids like to go up to it and just watch it open and close. So the battries going dead I'd really say is more our fault. Either way I'm glad I made this purchase.

That’s the kind of product I will buy over and over. I already gifted one to my aunt, and will keep giving it as a gift. I hope they don’t mess it up as it happens so often with hard to find good products.

The automatic lid worked for about a month and stopped closing, not even manually. Contacted the supplier providing all pertaining information as required. Answered back after 3 weeks or so with instructions on how to troubleshoot the problem. The instructions did not solve the issue and requested a replacement lid as part of the gurantee. Answered inmediately stating that they will send me a replacement, but that lid was out of stock and didn't know when it will be available. And then, at the end of the message, they have the nerve of writing "Enjoy your new lid!". Wasted money.

This can is lower than my old can but after using it I find the bags fit it fine and the auto opening lid is great

the battery compartment lid kept coming off. I contacted the vendor but they had no interest in sending me another lid which I would have paid for. So the cost that I paid for this can went right down the tubes because I can't use it.
