No weird scents, and no ozone flying around in the apartment.
While I have read a lot of complaints about the sound, this is pretty quiet compared to the older big "air cleaners" that required filters and make a huge racket. This thing does have a fan, but it's not so noisy I can't fall asleep or anything. In fact, I don't notice it at all.The good points are the healthy way it cleans the air, the relatively low cost, the fact that it's super small and doesn't require changing bulbs, filters, and it's not spewing ozone into my home. I read a ton of reviews and I'm as pleased as I had hoped to be.

Works well as intended
Works as intended--might see more dust as a result of getting particles to fall from air.

It actually works!!!
We live in Arizona, and keeping up with the dust, well allergies are just going to happen no matter how clean your house is. I bought one for our place and three for our son. Phenomenal difference guys. We love it. Our grandsons coughing and watery eyes have definitely gotten better as my son does not want to give them meds all the time. We have had them about a week now and the minute you walk in our homes, you can just smell the freshness. Have them on all the time. ππ½ππ½ For sureWe wonβt be without them

Broke In 30 Day - No Customer Support
Ordered this ion generator off of Amazon and it worked great for about 30 days and then stopped working. I attempted to contact the manufacturer through Amazon and never heard back. So I contacted them through their website and never heard back. I then sent them a message via social media and never heard back. So I got Amazon support and Amazon Amazon attempted to contact them and never heard back. I ended up returning the product...

Makes chittering, shuffling, and high-pitched whistling sound
This did clean the air. When it was on, I burned an incense. The smell of the incense disappeared after it burned out which is not usually the case, right? Usually an incense smell lingers, so it definitely clears smoke and smells. I also had less sneezing spells in the morning and my nose didn't run as much. However, it makes a very annoying sound that I just cannot bear. The fan itself is very quiet. But it periodically makes chittering, shuffling, gurgling and high-pitched whistling sounds. The sounds are continuous and last for hours. I messaged them and they said the reason is because dust and particles get caught in the fan. So they said use the brush it came with to clean it and blow canned air through it. So I cleaned it with the brush, still heard the annoying sounds. Bought canned air and thoroughly blew it, and still there was no change in the annoying sounds... I requested a replacement because maybe mine was defective? But the replacement had the same issue and in addition to that, the fan was louder.I happened upon an article that said ionic air purifiers may be dangerous because the released ions bond to things in the home such as paint, asbestos, or whatever else to potentially create carcinogenic by-products. And ionic purifiers also cause heart problems over time.... so I am just going to look for a HEPA filter instead. Good luck to anyone else.

So Happy for This Option
I have placed one IonPacific ion box in the open kitchen/dining/living area and another in the master bedroom/bath. I plan to order two more to place in the office and guest bedroom. Even ordering that many the cost is so much less than a big, bulky air purifier with filters that have to be cleaned and/or replaced, and these are so compact that they can be placed and moved so easily! My allergies have settled down even tho pollen counts are still on the high side. I am a pleased customer and am recommending the ion box to others.

Packaged like its worth $70, but out of package worth maybe $15.
The ionbox is packaged like a high quality device, but when you open it and pull it out of the nice box and jewelry bags it comes it, its almost laughable. It looks and feels like a cheap plastic toy. It made me think of those USB desktop fans that sell for around $15 dollars and run for a few weeks before the cheap parts wear out. On the good side, as soon as I plugged it in, it ran quiet and produced a faint ozone smell so it does seem to be working. The output however is miniscule. Nowhere near what a device of this price should be outputting. I get similar performance from a $4 unit I bought out of China.

Fantastic product!
Doing a Fantastic job cleaning the air in my basement. I had a problem with the Radon level in the basement-it was 8.1, which is above the EPA recommended level of less than 4.0. After running the ION Generator for 2 months the level dropped to 2.1! I will eventually need to install a whole house emission system, but in the meantime, this has saved me several thousand dollars. thank you for this great product. PS, I even purchased a second ION Generator to keep my family room level under 4.0 (which is also on a slab foundation)
