Product Description In order to effectively reach this generation with the richness and beauty of our Catholic faith, it must be done in new and relevant ways. Teens watch a staggering amount of media content each day. Why not reach out to them through this channel that resonates with them and speaks their language? The VCAT Video Catechism does this through creative short films and videos that use cultural analogies, creativity, humor, and always try to answer the question, 'Why should a teenager care about this?' At the heart of each video is a point (or points) articulated by the Catechism of the Catholic Church. I received the videos just a week prior to our Confirmation retreat and incorporated several into the retreat schedule. The teens perked up, watched, and listened to the videos. Afterward, they told me, 'We got it. Are there more videos? It's a great way to learn.' Thanks Outside da Box. Using media that speaks to teens really helps! --Peggie Clapp, Youth Minister, St. James Catholic Church, Corinth, MSOutside da Box is an amazing resource. We have used their short films in our Youth Nights and Sacrament Retreats. The teens connect well with the videos, which help lead us into great discussions. I would highly recommend you purchase a membership. --Jeremy Stafford, Director of Youth and Young Adult Evangelization, St. Paul Catholic Church, Phoenix, AZI have used Outside da Box video clips for high school para-liturgical celebrations and for Confirmation sessions and retreats. Young people are digital learners and these video clips meet them where they are. Thanks to Outside da Box, I have a way to connect with the adolescent youth in my ministries. --Sr. Pat Carter, Catholic Curriculum Department Director, Mount St. Joseph Centre, Sault Ste. The not-for-profit organization, was founded in 2005 by Eric Groth, a veteran youth minister, in order to respond to a tremendous need in the Catholic Church: the absence of relevant Catholic video resources for teens in parish youth ministry and catechetical settings. With a keen understanding of youth culture and a mission to create short films that help teens know, love, and serve Jesus Christ, Outside da Box is responding to JPII's declaration and the Church s call for a 'New Evangelization'. In 2012, two of the films won international awards. Palm Sunday was selected by Telly Awards as Best Religious Short Film. Zombies vs. Jesus was awarded Best Short Film at the John Paul II International Film Festival. Outside da Box stands alone as an organization devoted to the creation of Catholic video resources for teens and is a well-positioned leader and resource in the Catholic Church s efforts to evangelize the young church.
