Terrible item! Lousy instructions miserable software.
The software isn’t applicable to all Chevy models and all they want to do is sell software upgrades!!! If you want a code reader that works, you need to spend over $100.

might be enough for most people
I have mixed feelings about this product. While it worked, the app user interface is very slow and unresponsive. The bigger issue is that you need to buy the software for the specific make/model of your car to be able to use this. While the first one is free for a year, I don't want to pay 30-40$ for a simple software package to be able to use my ODB. I would look for alternatives that do not require separate software purchases.

When it works it works great
First off, this is simple to use. Plug it into the OBD2 port, launch the app on your phone and connect to the device via bluetooth. It lets you view what tripped the MIL, view error codes, reset timers, etc. The biggest problem I have had with it, and it is not vehicle specific, is how long it takes to make the initial connection, if it makes it at all. Sometimes I have to unplug it from the vehicle 3-4 times before it will start polling data.

Reads as expected
My car throws an o2 sensor code every now and then so I finally got this reader. Sure enough, the code popped up as expected. The initial set up took longer than expected. I had to create an account and register the device. Wasn't just a quick plug and go.

It's works until you need to pay more money
I'm sure this is much cheaper than a scan tool that mechanics may use, but I would really love to get one of these devices that doesn't block features that it was advertised with behind a pay wall. Was able to get it hooked up to my 2008 Honda odyssey, and all the information seemed correct, but when I tried to scan codes, it prompted me to pay 39.99 for the Honda data pack... I mean, it sais i can download up to 5 cars for free for a year, but what happens after that. Did I just get a device that will be useless to me in a year unless I buy the data packs? I'm really not sure. For once I would like to get a device like this that doesn't try to nickle and dime me every step of the way. Yes this is cheaper than the professional machines that cost thousands, but from what I see, there is absolutely no reason they have to have subscriptions and time limits on features that are advertised and assumed you get with the purchase of the device. All in all, if your OK with paying more money whenever the company decides to change its terms, or decides to not update the app. I shouldn't have to enter my email to get access to features that should just be there when you get the app. Overall I would not recommend, not because it's not a useful tool in certain situations, just that we should not support this type of business. The freedom to fix things with tools that we buy is a protected right, and the information that goes along with it should never be put behind a subscription based program. If you absolutely need a cheep odb reader to clear codes, this may be a cheaper solution than a mechanic, but I would try to find one that doesn't have such shameless money grabs

On a 2017 Explorer this unit caused all subsystems to log errors and warnings - Do not use this tool
I have wanted to try a bluetooth OBDII diagnostic tool for a long time. I normally use a standard wired scan tool. The ability to wirelessly scan, log, and monitor data would be helpful.Installation of the software was simple. Creating an account was simple and straightforward. Recovering a password upon software reinstall however was not. Entering my email and clicking to recover my password just ends up in a constant loop of 'network unavailable'. This is immediately after installing the software from the Google Play store. The first time I installed the software all went well. I was able to register the dongle with no problems at all and looked forward to testing it on my SUV.It is to be noted that the claim is there are lots of vehicle versions available. The store on my particular software (ThinkDare Mini) showed only Chinese vehicle models. No North American or European manufacturers at all, anywhere. No problem you would think, it should still be able to do basic OBDII functionality? After all it is a standard protocol.Plug the unit in, start up the software. Software will not find or read the VIN from the vehicle computer. In fact all that happened was just about every subsystem began reporting warnings and errors or malfunctions. Traction control, ABS, O2 circuits, Stability control, radio/entertainment centre, engine sensors, speed sensors, reverse and traffic sensors, ALL started flooding warnings that could not be cleared using the normal steering wheel buttons. It also set a MIL (malfunction indicator lamp, aka Check engine light). This got unplugged right quick before it destroyed thousands of dollars of vehicle systems. I ended up using my standard scan tool to go back in and check functionality and clear numerous codes.Thankfully it does not appear that any damage was done but I would NOT risk the chance. What it was really doing? Who knows. It was not doing anything proper on a 2017 Explorer though.Stay far away from this device. I do not trust it at all given the errors and warnings it caused on first plug in.

Good quality scanner but ThinkDiag Mini app is buggy and needs some work
The ThinkCar ThinkDiag Mini OBD2 Scanner is well made and feature rich OBD2 scanner with a very large coverage of vehicles, has standard OBD functions and can perform maintenance resets (most requiring an additional purchase/subscription).The Mini is easy to setup, just plug it into your vehicle's OBD port and wait for green light, then start the ThinkDiag Mini app. The app does require registration of a ThinkCar account and activation of the device (serial number and activation code found on instruction booklet, so don't throw that out!). It allows you to select and download the software for 5 vehicle makes for free. The connection to the Mini via Bluetooth is all facilitated in the app, making it easy. However, I was not able to get the All Systems Diagnostics to work. I get as far as VIN detection, and the make and model of my car is briefly displayed but goes back to home screen. So I am unable to generate a diagnostics report. I tried with both of my vehicles (different makes), but same issue. I'm sure this is a software issue I will be able to resolve with ThinkCar support but disappointing it didn't.What did work was the OBD Functions. I was able to get a data stream of all supported sensort and generate a report, which can be exported as PDF. However, you have to be connected to the Mini to even view reports. So if you disconnect the Mini and want to use the app to view a saved report, you can't! If you start the app, it prompts to activate the Mini again and the app just won't let you get to any of the functions without having the Mini connected to the OBD port. I found this quite annoying and you shouldn't have to be connected just to view past reports. If I could get the systems diagnostic report to work, I would possibly have information about issues that would be useful to know before taking your vehicle to a mechanic or dealer, or even fix the issues yourself if you are a DIY mechanic. The Mini can also do maintenance resets, great for DIYers and these features can easily pay for the Mini itself since resets performed at mechanic shop will cost money. The app takes up about 1GB of storage space on my Android phone and that is with 2 vehicle makes downloaded. In summary, the ThinkDiag Mini is a good quality OBD2 scanner that is easy to use, especially if you have ever used one of those cheap universal Bluetooth OBD2 scanners that are difficult to pair, disconnects frequently and apps are typically lacking features and not easy to use. However, the ThinkDiag Mini app appears to be broken and I can't even run a systems diagnostic report. If I do get this resolved, I will update this review but as it stands, the app is not fully functional for me and can't recommend this scanner.
