Everything I expected!
This amplifier just proves, you don't need huge power for superb sound. Sounds exceptional with my EJ Jordan full-range transmission line speakers.

Great performance for the price
The amplifier is an exceptional performer especially for it’s price point. I only used this amp in two channel stereo mode so I won’t be commenting about the head phone option. It’s evident that you should have 90db efficient speakers if are going to consider this amp. For my listening, I paired this with the Klipsch Heresy IV’s.The VMV Amp did fine driving these speakers and it was clear that this amp was a better match for the Heresy’s than the Emotiva Basx2 I had lying around. The VMV had more of a sweetness to the sound than the Emotiva and a more of live presentation (Not saying VMV is a better amp, just noting that it paired better with these particular speakers ). The VMV made a great first impression. I couldn’t believe this amp was getting such detailed, concise and controlled bass. I mostly played jazz, jazz fusion and rock. Recordings with double bass sounded outstanding. I could hear the strings snap on the finger board on a few jazz recordings that I never really noticed before. Treble and voices sound smooth and clear too. Then I realized something after a few hours of listening to different recordings. I could tell that this amp was voiced or made to embellish the low end. This is great if you’re somebody that likes bass, but it kind of bothered me a bit and I thought to myself maybe instruments like the double bass with this amp might be too good to be true. I found the mid range to be sweet, but sometimes it lacked a bit compared with the treble and bass voicing of the amplifier The treble was nice and I didn’t really find any issues. The amp has a cool looking display and the unit feels solid. I didn’t think it ran too warm or hot like a cup of coffee. It was just warm. I did notice that the warmer the amplifier got, the better it was sounded. However, that warmup would take about 10-15mins. At 20-30mins, this amplifier was sailing along and sounded great. There’s a thermostat on the screen that shows the temperature inside the unit. I didn’t look at the temperature directly when I thought it was sounding it’s best, just my watch. The one thing I didn’t care for were the spikes. Move the amplifier just a little bit and it gets knocked off the pads provided very easily. My final thoughts is that this is a great amplifier especially for under $1K. If someone is looking for a solid state option to power efficient speakers, doesn’t want to deal with tubes and likes bass, this might be one of the best affordable options. This is a very niche product that will give a person hours of listening enjoyment especially if your speakers may need some help in the low end. It does compete with higher priced amplifiers.Equipment used was Van Alstine SLR Preamp, Schitt Sys (passive pre amp), Schitt Mani, Pioneer PL TT and Klipsch Heresy IV speakers.

Clean unexaggerated sound
This is my first foray into class A amps so I cannot compare to other class A amps. I do not know if this is a good value for the money or overpriced. Here is what I can tell you:Build quality:The build quality is nice. The unit feels sturdy and hefty. It doesn’t feel cheap. I like the look/feel of the remote. It is small but feels quality. It reminds me of the Apple TV remote in size and feel.Sound:This is a clean balanced sounding amp. Nothing seems exaggerate. At louder volumes the highs aren’t fatiguing. Why 4 stars?I have nothing in its class to compare it to and this my first Class A amp. All my other amps are much higher powered Class D amps (Cyrus OneCast, Peachtree Amp500 and XTZ Edge A2-300)Speakers I’ve played it with- Klipsch RP-600M II- Monolith 365 & 465 (both in two channel)- Goldenear Triton 7

Wow! What A Class Sound. !
The little amplifier that could.Well I must say, this amplifier sure puts on a nice wide soundstage. I have never reviewed a product before, till this one. This product is something that you should consider if, you are looking for a A-class amplifier on a budget. If you’re looking for good mid range sound and good string acoustics and a wide soundstage, this is the amplifier for you. I am sure you would like the sound of this amplifier, no doubt about it.Take care and happy listening,Craig
