Handy little tool, not sure how long it will last.
I do not own any other 3Legged Thingz products. I do have several things that take this size hex tool though, and I thought this would be a good addition to my camera bag. It’s a really nifty little tool and works for tightening/loosening tripod plates and a few other things. Much better having this than trying to make sure I have a single small hex of the same size in my bag. Those things end up being hard to find when you need them, but I’ve not had that issue with this. It’s easy to grip and use as well which is the best. I’m not sure about longevity yet as I purchased this heading into the coronavirus shutdown and my events have either been canceled or rescheduled, so I haven’t had the chance to use it in the field. I have used it just around locally and it seems great. I keep it in my gear bag and can easily find it because of the color. 4 stars for usefulness but as yet undetermined longevity. You can be sure I’ll comment down the road if my assessment changes.

needlessly large but an equally large convenience for most photographers
it has the two tools i need most while out taking photos: 4mm hex for tripod screws and wide flathead for low profile tripod screws.why it has both an integrated keyring and a carabiner, i have no idea. seems redundant, no? the bottle opener is also of questionable utility and need, not to mention it's designed backward compared to an ideal design. it was obviously just "thrown in" due to the excessive space in the total design. it could clearly be 1/8 the total size, and far more comfortable on a keyring, by dumping the carabiner and bottle opener bits.otherwise, it's the only minimalist multitool aimed at photographers that's priced reasonably. most others are lacking critical bits, have more tools and mass than necessary, or are priced ridiculously. for example, someone makes a tool with just the necessary wide flathead and 4mm hex drive that's 1/5 the size and fits comfortably on a keychain but they're charging $20 for it. TWENTY DOLLARS. just because they've attempted to patent the design. and here i thought things couldn't get more ridiculous.anyways, it's normally $7.99 and if you're a photographer who uses a tripod regularly outside of a studio, this is a timesaver and worth it at eight bucks. if you normally keep your keys in a pocket, you'll probably need to find a different place to store it, though.

useful, but somewhat flawed
This tool is useful for photographers since it has both the correct size allen wrench and screwdriver head needed for tightening mounting plates. However, it does seem a little awkward. Both tool heads stick out, and it's in the opposite direction that keys work, so I'm not inclined to keep it on a keychain or use the carabiner. It would be helpful if the heads were either retractable, foldable, or had caps. The plastic has some rough spots that I hope will smooth out over time.Still keeping one in each camera bag and tripod bag.

Excellent Tool for Landscape Photographers.
Excellent tool for any photographer using a tripod, an L bracket and a nodal rail. Absolutely a “must have.” The tool is a bit large due to the bottle opener that probably has limited use. The larger size does allow for more secure tightening. My initial thought was, I wish it were black, but the blue color makes it stand out for quick and easy access.I liked it so much that I bought 6, one for each member of my team. We now call ourselves, the Blue Team. Oh, the price point is absolutely correct. I’ve seen similar tools costing 3X as much. I’m lovin’ it. . . . bgs.

If you use quick release tripod mounts,,,
I originally got one of these multi tools with an L bracket, and I felt an extra on my tripod would be handy. The tool has the Allen key that the same size used in many mounting plates and a flat blade that works well too. The overall size prevents you from over-tightening the screw, and the clip allows you to mount it where it will be most convenient. The hang dandy bottle opener works well with twist off and regular caps.

No Packaging - bad quality
To ensure the product reaches in good state, there has to be some packaging. The product was just dropped in the box with other items purchased, the clip does not open and close smoothly and some edges are not clean.Had really like the look of this product, but will be returning it soon.

4mm Allen (hex) wide flat screwdriver blade that’s not exactly flat.
Caplifter is nice bonus. Has everything needed to screw a plat to a camera body or a lens foot. Lightweight and clips to straps belt loops key ring etc. I love it!

very useful and compact
This is my third unit - I have one in each of my camera bags. Does what it needs, with basic buts.wish they would make them in different/brighter colors

Covenient to always carry
Good to have allen key and flat head for tightening tripod mounts, base plates etc. Would have preferred it to be metal rather than plastic.

Great little accessory for your tripod
Its really useful to have one of these for your tripod. I take this everywhere with me. The only slight disappointment I would say is that the bottle opener isn't built very well and when trying to open a bottle, the cap would scrape on the plastic leaving unsightly grooves on the keychain. I now avoid using it to open bottles and purely use it for tripod purpose only.

A great idea
Love this tool, allows me to tighten the “L” bracket on camera without searching for a coin. Also great for tripod. In fact so good I purchased a second one

Useful gizmo
Very useful for adjusting my L-Bracket. I have one fixed to my rucksack permanently and a spare one as it is part plastic.
