Very well thought out.
I love these units. They give that extra peace of mind for CO monitoring as well as the other parameters VOC and PM measured. Knowing the quality of the air you are breathing with particulate matter (PM) and linking it up to a connected air filter and dehumidifier units really starts to control your own environment. Great design. Minimalistic. Also measures humidity and temperature to help set up routines with your other connected devices.

A Marvellous but Limited Device: An In-Depth Review of the Amazon Smart Air Quality Monitor
The Amazon Smart Air Quality Monitor is a rather marvellous device that I recently purchased to integrate with my home ventilation system. I was looking for a way to keep an eye on the air quality in my home and this device seemed like the perfect solution. While I do believe that the monitor itself is a great piece of kit, it is unfortunately rather limited by the Alexa ecosystem. There are many options to set up Alexa routines using various measured parameters, but these routines frequently do not run when they're meant to, even though the air quality has changed below or above a defined threshold. The built-in routines to alert an associated Alexa speaker when the air quality has changed to poor do seem to be working reliably, but custom routines can be a bit hit and miss.Furthermore, there is no official way to integrate this device with other home automation systems such as Home Assistant, which would make it much more versatile and popular. Additionally, the device takes a bit of time to boot up when first plugged in and some of the readings, such as VOCs, can be a bit confusing to interpret. Finally, it's a shame that the Alexa app requires quite a bit of navigation to see the air quality and that there is no option to use an Echo with a display to show the air quality as one of the slides.Despite these niggles, I do think that the Amazon Smart Air Quality Monitor is a decent option, especially if you are simply looking for something to check the air quality in your home and be alerted when it changes to poor. It is perhaps a bit pricey, especially if you need a few of these devices, but considering the alternatives on the market, it does seem like a good choice.Fun fact: this device is quite an eye-opener when it comes to the air quality in your kitchen when cooking, even on an electric stove! All in all, I would say that this device is a rather clever and useful piece of kit, even if it does have a few limitations.

Brilliant and enlightening. Used to monitor 3D printer VOCs. Demo of VOCs with superglue
This was a brilliantly insightful addition to my workshop. Simply plug and play.I have been 3D printing for some time now with little worry of any air born particles that it might give off, however with a little one on the way I was more curious.I purchased this with the knowledge that it can measure particles and VOCs in the atmosphere. However I am also impressed that it measures, Temperature, Humidity, PM (particulate matter) and Carbon monoxide. The information provided is excellent, and only takes 7mins for the sensor to calibrate itself. It then takes regular samples of the air feeding information to your mobiles device via Alexa. You can also ask Alexa for an update.I have added a pic for the VOCs just to demonstrate how it works when I used some super glue at 5:50pm. You can see how the 3D printer is a steady and safe 9, then the super glue shoots it up to 37.Whats more when I was preparing the item in question to glue I also did some sanding of the item. This actually showed up on the particulate matter reading as can be seen from my pictures.A brilliant piece of kit and I ma now at much greater piece of mind.

Very accurate readings and updates in real-time. Worth the price!
Carbon Monoxide alarms usually go for £20+ and only alert the end-user via beeps; but this device is really handy. The device will inform you if there is anything toxic in the atmosphere.Plus, I have this linked to my Echo Show, so if the Carbon Monoxide gets to a dangerous level then it will report this immediately; I have it set to read out a customised automated message.Custom Message for when CO level is above 5 ppm: "Warning! Carbon Monoxide levels have reached above 11 ppm. Open Windows to ventilate the room. Any reading above 5 ppm is harmful"Custom Message when CO level reaches 10 ppm: "Warning! Consider Calling 999 as the Carbon Monoxide levels have reached well beyond the safe household limit. Please open the Windows to ventilate the room. This is the final warning you will receive!"The readings from this device are also very accurate; yet all of you must remember like it's stated in the description, that this is not a replacement to Carbon Monoxide alarm and should not bought for this reason. The only downside to this device I can think of is the lack of integration with Alexa as you have to be very specific if you display the air quality report on any Amazon Device (i.e. Fire TV Stick and Echo Show) and even then it will only read out the overall air quality rating which is not really useful; the device is only really let down by this.

Not really all that useful since no ability to really understand why air quality is changing
I brought this device out of curiosity re what it may show re the 'air quality' in my home. On the plus side set up was easy and it integrates well with the 3 echo devices in my home (a 4th Gen, Echo Show 8 & Dot) including the Echo Show 8 it sits next too. You however must be clear in your Echo commands making sure to ask 'what is the indoor air quality' not 'what is the air quality'. I've no issues with the Alexa app either since the link to the same is on the home screen so with one tap you can get detailed data. However the detailed data seems odd since it will give often give an overall low score for the day despite been in the green mostly throughout. The real problem is that it will go from green to red sometimes for seemingly no reason when nothing obvious has changed in the air quality and there is no way also of discerning as to why. In addition since it takes two days to fully calibrate to the space that it is in this is not a device you can move room to room.I think in summary it is not a very useful item that might give uncalled for concerns about the air quality in your home.
