About the item

This purchase is for a complete protection kit for the above bike model, it includes front axle, frame and rear axle sliders. The sliders feature a new design of a complete solid puck without a hollowed-out center. This increases the strength and contact surface to about 30%. The bracket is bolted to the engine and the aluminum spacer is bolted to the bracket. The slider puck is then screwed on to the spacer. Since this spacer is made of solid billet aluminum there is no need for re-tightening the engine bolt in the long run where you have to do so with plastic slider as the plastic would gradually give in and therefore making the bolt loose. The brackets have three attachment points preventing them from rotating in the event of a low side. The material of the puck is made of UHMW-PE (ultra high molecular weight polyethylene), a tough plastic with good strength, wear resistance and dimensional stability. It is more dimensionally stable than Nylon and used in many industrial ball bearing and friction reducing applications. Compared to Delrin, it is softer but tougher. Delrin is harder but more brittle. It is an ideal material for frame sliders since it can absorb more impact force onto itself and therefore reduce the impact on the frame and engine. For the front and rear axle sliders the installation is a simple bolt on with the bar going through the axle and one plastic puck on each side. The slider pucks can be inexpensively replaced in case of a low-side. We use highest grade commercially available 12.9(177,000 psi in tensile strength) wherever possible. Rest assured that you are getting the best material commercially available

  • Material = UHMW-PE (ultra high molecular weight polyethylene) and solid aluminum 6061-T6 brackets finished in black anodizing for durability. The spacers and long bars for the axle sliders are made of 6061-T6 aluminum.
  • Slider dimensions = For the frame sliders approx. 6" in length, 2" in diameter, approx. 1.5" in length and 1.75" in diameter for the front axle sliders, approx. 2" in overall length, 1.75" in diameter for the rear axle sliders. NO CUT or plastic fairings modification.
  • Fit Models = 2000 - 2016 Suzuki DR-Z400 E / S / SM.
