This thing is cheap...in price and materials. But they at least align and my expectations were met. We have a young child that likes to sneak off to watch TV in the middle of the night, so we needed something cheap to keep the remotes contained. We are NOT chasing actual security here, just prevention of a kid from grabbing a remote. He seems to find them if we just put them up on a shelf somewhere or a drawer. Love the fingerprint option or the key option

Even with new batteries, the fingerprint part never worked. So I use the key, but now the lock is almost impossible to turn.

I bought this for a vacation rental so guests could lock up valuables while they are out. It is not like a hotel safe where you enter a new code each time you use it. Once you set a code, it stays that code until you manually reset it (can’t expect guests to do that). It automatically locks when you close it, so the next guest or owner wouldn’t be able to unlock it without the previous guests’s code or the key.
